sad to see this sad.gif

btw i bought a malayan box turtle yesterday. and it do not eat since bought. I tried fed him with different type pellets, kangkung, and banana. He also spent most of his time basking and not moving. It is the same whether I placed him in a aquarium with other 2 RES or in a seperate plastic tank.

It seem to scare of water as well.. I tried put him in the water he was panic and quickly run to the basking dock again

his size is around 5.5cm

can I know whether there are any problem with this turtle?

Wait, pls be careful of extreme heat from direct sunlight. I dunno if its just me, but i think small RESes cant stand it. I used to keep a pair of RES in a plastic tank outside. Later both died. I learned that u shud at least hv certain depth of water in a pond, so that the water temperature wont get too hot. Later i'll post pics, if i hv time.
*
Okey.. but dont think I will let them expose to direct sunlight. will somehow provide a shade biggrin.gif and should be keeping them in a bathtub hmm.gif i wonder if that gonna work..

My bad. I think i dont need water filtration since i do water change regularly, and the small fishes live happily with no problem at all.

I think the mistake is, direct sunlight and extreme heat. The big mushroom was not enough a shelter.
*
oic.. well i think the direct sunlight might be a serious problem tho. I heard few stories that their RES died because expose to sun for a long time.. and water get too warm easily in our country..

Nice enclosure. I think should use filter too, will save a lot of hard work later. And also, its nicer to have sounds of running water, instead of still water without filtration system.

Good luck bro  thumbup.gif

thanks bro smile.gif will do more research on it! thumbup.gif
