how to know? just throw your ball... if it skids a lot.. more than likely its heavy oil.. if it hooks super duper early.. then its dry..

or.. you could just ask the workers there.. they should know..

I dont think they do any patterns on oiling.. unless you are joinning tournaments.. so you wont need to worry about patterns..

reason why i asked becoz i want to buy balls.. and i dont want all of my balls are made for 1 type of lane condition.. biggrin.gif

was lurking the net and found out about storm's ball: second dimension and virtual energy/gravity... seems very interesting... tongue.gif

you could polish or sand your ball surface.. if its not hooking enough you could bring your surface down to 2000-grit using an abarlon pad.. or if its hooking way too much you could polish your ball so that it will skid more..

2nd dimension is more for heavy oil lanes.. virtual gravity is a heavy oiled lanes ball.. you will suffer when the lanes break down..

each ball surface is different.. are you a hook player? or just throw straight ball?

if you are hook player.. you should understand sometimes you play your ball hooks damn early.. or sometimes you play.. your ball hook late or dont hook at all..

if your ball hooks early.. you need to polish your ball surface.. so that your ball will skid more..

if your ball hooks late or no hook.. you need to take a pad.. they call it abralon pad.. got sell in sunway.. and start rubbing your ball with the pad.. it makes the surface rough so that the ball could bite the lane and hook..

the two balls that you saw.. 2nd dimension ball is made for medium to heavy oil lanes.. but its closer to a heavy oil lane ball.. which means if the lane is not oily enuf OR has been played by other ppl for many many games... the ball will be harder to control(but still controllable).. virtual gravity ball is a heavy oil lane ball.. so if many people have played the lane already and they did not clean the lane.. you may have a problem controlling the ball.. the hook will surely die when it reaches the pin.. what you want is a continous hooking motion.. smile.gif

drilling is another story.. you cannot change your drilling while you drilled ur ball already..

this is small changes that you can make to your ball when you suddenly encounter an oily/dry lane during tournaments/leagues/compertitions.. plug and redrill the ball takes 2 days wat.. ahha..

yea i know...
what i mean is firstly u know ur drilling layout...
once u buy new ball that the hook potential more than ur old ball,
u should ask the pro shop guy to adjust ur drilling layout rite, so the ball will suit u...
sorry if i'm wrong..:-)

no.. drillings doesnt work like that.. drillings follow ur style of playying.. some drillings could let your ball go deep down in the lane and then have a super duper sharp backend.. some drillings are for flare which means using the ball maximum hook capability.. so depending on ball speed, axis tilt, axis rotation, and rev speed.. you will know ur drillings..

but then.. why would u want a ball that is better than your old ball but you want it to perform like your old ball? haha.. doesnt make sense.. you want it to be better! hahaha..

im a leftie stroker (what they call it la) as i stand far left, release ball at arrow 1 or 1/12... sometimes it hooks, but mostly it doesnt... i sent for polish but still doesnt hook... so i move my position and play more in the middle... it hooks late... sweat.gif

dats y im looking for a ball that hooks like a mad man! tongue.gif

more flare, more hook, more strike!!! flex.gif

its either ebonite mission or storm range: invasion, virtual energy/gravity... smile.gif
