LAN for?
I don't see a need for it. LOL. Unless you looking forward for some Chinaman to crack the game and -> Masuk Gay-arena.

I know you pirates have been hoping on all this.

Im planning to get this game too, yes, im VERY NEWBIE here, dunno alot about to setting here and there
just wanna start play multiplayer of this game.

they most prob want competitions with lan, then again give it 2 weeks for crappy promod to come out in black ops

If without LAN, competitions are hard to host.

You don't see MW2 competitions around for the very same reason. No LAN = GG.com

Also, if got LAN but using crappy Promod for tourneys = DO NOT WANT

yea as if any one wants to play no mod for tourneys. fo sho they will QQ because of little stuffs that give little benefits to opposition team

What does GG mean? People say it a lot on this thread.

I doubt we gonna see any competitions for BO. What they provide isnt sufficient for it.

CoD is pretty much like NFS, where it's no longer suitable for competitive play.

GG = good game

Its used by gamers each time the game ends. Think of it as a friendly handshake with your opponents after sports.

Starcraft players use it as a gesture to surrender to their opponent.

Malaysian players use it to indicate trouble. "Eh, see that car move so fast, later the driver sure GG"

Promod is not a synonym for competitive play. You CAN use other mods and still play competitively.

yea thats why you see people hosting competitions with out promod rite? btw gg have multiple meaning, could also mean good going so no point trying to facepalm because some one else can come up with a different meaning and face palm at you too.

What ? We can't pick servers ? Random matchmaking again. This is going to suck. Just do like TF2

Have pure servers and modded servers , its simple as that. Clients can filter out. Lets see how this works out

When I play BFBC2 using this type of matchmaking I never have lag. Hopefully this will be the same.

Great game , waiting for it anxiously but are there people willing to host a local server here? I'm not gonna buy a game that can't play local servers

Edit : Eh , wait . I saw a few previous post and you guys said no local server hosting? True not? If so , i would just buy the MOH then.

Well, it is confirmed that there is no local SEA servers.

Closest is Japan or Australia. Even Western Australia doesnt have any servers.

What Activision is doing is far worse than EA with BFBC2. One provider is too little.
