18mm not wide enough? Might need to consider something like Tokina 11-16 then.

Hi celciuz, ever since i started using the 50mm prime, I prefer prime now. So i'm looking for a prime or MAYBE a small wide-zoom...

Any recommendation?

18-105 IQ not good enough for you now eh?

11-16 f/2.8 might interest you. Else if you want primes, wide one would be 24 f/1.4 which is...pricey. RM6500.

Hehe... many seems to appreciate the Q of prime... 6K is out la... how much is the 11-16 f/2.8?

and is f/2.8 enough for restaurant dinner setting? or will i need a flash? i hate flash...

Thanks all for yr comments.

f/2.8 is sufficient, one stop faster than your 18-105 @ f3.5. But you get wider focal length in tokina 11-16. if you pump some ISO and use slower shutter (1/30~1/40?) at f2.8 should be ok. But it wont look so well exposed and not sharp. If can some bounced/diffused flash would be better to illuminate more.

thanks, but i prefer not to use flash at such public settings... very impolite i feel... want o be polite but no money wor... how a?... hahaha...

ok... thank you guys for all yr advice... I'll do somemore research on these sughested lenses.

BTW, 1 question on macro lenses, what is the diff in the XXmm numbers compare to the number for normal lense? Does it means 100mm macro can do macro at a further distance compare to a 38mm macro lense?
