QUOTE(brian12988 @ Jun 17 2010, 05:27 PM) there is no ISP that does not have problems....just make a a report and chase them..while we "enjoy" our ADSL. Try redialing till you get an IP that's from the UniFi range. It looks like the IP block you got still belongs to Indonesia ISP. Does your IP start with 110.159.x.x ? If not redial till you get it and run the speedtest again.

QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jun 17 2010, 10:54 PM) Is the tmnut unifi speedometer reliable for testing speed ??? I'm not sure whether i should report to complain about speed not being 10mb on their speedometer. What do you think :/ Bro, As Riz mentioned..their speedometer isn't that reliable. Since you got uTorrent running, that should confirm the actual speeds your getting.

QUOTE(mox123 @ Jun 21 2010, 09:41 AM) Hi All, If I want to replace the dir615 completely, can I use the the NETGEAR WNDR3700 RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router? I understand I need a VLAN capable switch, does this Netgear router have that function? Also, is the setup kind of straight forward for the total replacement of dir615? I can't find any setup guide for this configuration.....maybe someone can point it to me :-) http://unifi.athena.my/Start there

QUOTE(mox123 @ Jun 21 2010, 09:41 AM) Hi All,

I understand I need a VLAN capable switch, does this Netgear router have that function? This model doesn't support VLAN. It might pass vlan packets but that's it. You could try Buffalo WZR-HP-300NH, comes with DD-WRT by default and has VLAN support. If you start back to say, page 30 onwards there should be a few guides on setting this up with DD-WRT if you decide to use this.

QUOTE(mox123 @ Jun 21 2010, 11:51 AM) wow, sounds like quite troublesome......if I'm going to use the dir615 as VLAN bridge, NETGEAR WNDR3700 should be able to use as my wireless router link to dir615, right? In this case, no need VLAN capable router, right? Correct. This would be the more trivial option.

QUOTE(humms @ Jun 21 2010, 12:27 PM) hi guys, i have just installed unifi VIP5 package on Saturday afternoon. ever since then, the wifi connection has been on and off intermittently (as in like connected to the internet for a while, then disconnected a few seconds then connected back again) and this happens all the time. i'm living in a condo in pj. is there anything wrong with the connection ? other than that, the hypptv is smooth all the time. need some advice here! thanks Added on June 21, 2010, 12:29 pmand i forgot the mention, the connection is not up to my expectation at all! using the TM net speedtest, average dl speed is only about 2mb plus. downloading of torrents only about 1++k /sec. Login to your DIR-615 and set your wifi mode to B/G only. Also try lowering the TX power a little. Someone here has done that and reported saying his wifi connection is now stable. Apart from that, try using wired connection to test your speed with uTorrent and/or direct download(mirrors sites). Don't rely on speedtest.net..the speeds fluctuate inconsistently.

QUOTE(PGGTrader @ Jun 25 2010, 10:15 AM) Hey guys, i am on VIP5 and seriously other than Rapidshare downloads / HTTP downloads, i don't find the speed of surfing web pages faster than streamyx 1Mb. Sometime i find loading of web page is even slower than 1Mb Streamyx. Are you guys experiencing the same thing or just me ? What DNS servers are you using ?

QUOTE(St1GL1TZ @ Jun 27 2010, 02:31 PM) I'm having some issues connecting to the wirless router provided, i.e. limited connectivity. Been searching all over the internet for solutions to fix it, any ideas? I was working on a clients laptop that had similar problems..limited connectivity. What I did was first uninstall/reinstall the wireless driver from Device Manager(WinXP) and secondly upgraded the wifi driver to the latest. I should mention that the laptop came with Intel Pro's Wifi connection manager..I disabled that and used the built-in wireless connection manager. Now the laptop doesn't have the 'limited connectivity' issue.

QUOTE(brian12988 @ Jul 1 2010, 10:20 AM) just wish that there is a more detailed explanation on the cap... I called UniFi CS yesterday to raise my opinion on the cap limit. The lady was explaining they implement the cap base on media type, audio/video/streaming. So I told her example for VIP5, 60GB monthly cap is 2GB per day and this limit is not realistic and they should raise it triple times making it 4GB per day which I think is quite reasonable limit. The lady also mentioned other unifi users also raise similar opinion and she will bring this matter to higher management to discuss. So I guess have to wait and see what they say. Added on July 1, 2010, 10:28 amQUOTE(ben3003 @ Jul 1 2010, 10:26 AM) so they already implement the cap, or havent yet? The cap is suspended for now. QUOTE(brian12988 @ Jul 1 2010, 10:29 AM) does it include local traffic or international traffic?? after reaching the cap, what would happen?? why is there a daily cap??if capping at peak periods i understand..but daily cap is unrealistic..frankly. It's monthly cap not daily. When I mention 2GB per day for VIP5, that's to narrow down the picture so the CS lady understands why ppl say the cap is unrealistic.

QUOTE(powerfulcool @ Jul 1 2010, 10:31 AM) imm hearing 2 things now. is there going to be a cap or not? there isnt any news or annoucnement from tm To clear the air, initially when they launch Unifi, they impose the cap. Shortly after that ppl started to voice out about the unrealistic cap limit so from that point onwards the lifted the cap(Uncapped) till furthur notice from them. And yes there is definitely going to be a monthly cap. We just don't know what the limit will be.

QUOTE(powerfulcool @ Jul 1 2010, 10:39 AM) oh, so same old story lah. we all knew back then that TM was going to delay the cap until the end of the year. this thread made me think that TM has changed its mind and tried to change its policy to imposing the cap now, this month of July. So there is still no caps but there will be in the future. like i said, same old story. dont know why everyone's agitated, not like TM has announced anything... Right. Let's all just wait for the announcement then..

QUOTE(powerfulcool @ Jul 1 2010, 11:13 AM) what is in the back of the thread? i ve been reading it and no one said anything about TM contractors going around and replacing the remotes... Some of the buttons on the existing remote don't function properly. TM is aware of this and are sending out their men to replace them.

QUOTE(tiny @ Jul 6 2010, 02:48 PM) Anyone with Unifi can share what the latency is like for following locations: New York Los Angeles Seoul Berlin Singapore Tokyo To me latency is more important than bandwidth. Do you mind providing the websites to these countries for UniFi users to test out the latency ? This post has been edited by rogue: Jul 6 2010, 03:15 PM
