i recently purchased a Vaio S117GG. I found that the sound quality sucks big time. The volume is very low even after the volume control is already max. On top of that the sound quality is horrible.

Anyway to improve the volume and sound quality?

Sadly as Sony is the fore runner in the sound system and they could not even provide a decent one for their notebook. Mind you the S series is not the low end ones

IMHO, if you could afford it, go for the S series

If still under warranty, better go back to Sony.

you are not bothered about the warranty...

If you really want others help, at least be more specific la....

If not under warranty anymore, you could still send back to Sony OR you could send to those "outside" shops.
I happen to know that there is a shop in Digital Mall sec 14 that does repair. Vistacom Technology located on 2nd floor.
Have also seen one shop inside IOI Mall, Puchong. Their It section on the top floor.

I would reckon that you should call up the place where you bought yours. Ask them foe the next step. As for the OS, why would anyone want to down grade from Win7 to Vista?

Does it helps in the notebook's performance by adding another 4GB ram?

Anyway to speed up the start up?
Cos when the NB was new, the start up duration is much faster than now (after a year or two)
