do note that Turbo Boost will speed up the clock but not on all cores.

hei there, when they claim 2.93ghz, it is actually part of the turbo boost technology in which if u utilize less than all the cores, it'll be boosted to 2.93ghz from 2.4ghz

yeah man, i have 5741 as well.

u press ur right click on ur desktop -> Gadgets -> Intel Turbo Boost

it will Boost automatically, usually when i run my matlab it will boost accordingly, sometimes around 2.66GHz and if extensive coding, it can go upto 2.93GHz.

Dont worry bro, it will be done automatically, just sit back n relax. =D

most of u dont understand the concept of turbo boost.
turbo boost is not an automatic overclocking feature.

lets say u got 2 cores,
the application u use is only designed for ONE CORE ONLY, the other core not utilised.
then turbo boost will kick in to increase the speed of that FIRST CORE ONLY

thats intel turbo boost.

its feature is more to compensate the speed lost due to the application being able to use ONE core only.
not to increase the processor's performance as a whole.
