Hi!

I got a pair of speaker which comes with the Hi-Fi set. But sadly those 5 in 1 Hi-Fi set spoil easily so I just keep this pair of speaker.

If I want to use it back, what should I do? It uses the black and red cable and not those 3.5mm jack.

I heard that I must buy an amplifier but is there any other alternative? hmm.gif I want to save cost and in the same time, do not want to waste so much space... tongue.gif

Thanks for helping!

Currently I am doing the same with my setup, my all in one hi fi set broke down a few years ago..kept the speakers and currently using my Denon 1909 to drive them. Will upgrade the speakers when the budget permits.

But you have to check the impedance of the speaker, and match your amp based on the impedance.

Yes u can use back the speaker.. Just cut the 3.5mm jack head then connect to amp.

For my oppinion, u better start with some good AVR, cos in future u will not regret...

If u looking for low budget then u can try second hand AVR...

or if really low budget then can look for cap ayam amp.. sweat.gif

After searching about AVR, I still not that clear what is AVR... blush.gif I'm a noob in this audio stuff...

What's the difference between AVR and amplifier? Looks the same to me...

This AVR seems like alot more expensive than amplifier... I thought I can get something more cheaper and simpler than amplifier... hmm.gif

Previously I survey some of the amplifier cap ayam is like RM100-RM300 only... tongue.gif

A cheapo here.. blush.gif

If you want to reuse the speaker, you have no choice but to get an stereo amp tbh. Cheap options would be T-Amp, but need other sifu to guide you on this.

the different is ( i assume u compare with integrated amp) :

AVR has multichannel amp (5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1), int amp only 2.0 (stereo)
AVR has sound processor (DSP, multichannel format decoding), int amp dont have
AVR can act as video switching also (some AVR has video processing), int dont have

but if u compare sound quality (stereo) integrated amp is better than AVR (at same price) icon_rolleyes.gif
