Hi.
Are you trying to say that the printer is connected to a windows machine but you want to access it through FC3? If that is the case, you have to enable "Print Services for Unix" in Windows first. (For compability purpose) i) Go to "System Tools", "Print Manager" and set up your network printer. OR i) redhat-config-printer ii) The queue type should be "Network Windows SMB". iii) Be sure to edit the configuration to include your Windows share name, Windows user name and password (if used). iv) The print manager should autodiscover these parameters with the exception of your Windows user name and password if everything is configured correctly. But I hope you are not running in runlevel3 though... Cheers! |

QUOTE(b1n4ry @ Mar 25 2005, 09:13 PM) ho do i know if the print service for unix is enabled? Uhm, last time I did see it once, but I couldn't remember where is it.can you give me the example of that?.... It's alright if you can't find it, just ignore that. No big deal. QUOTE(b1n4ry @ Mar 25 2005, 09:13 PM) There settings inside the printer configuration tool in FC3 that let you specify the username and password. |
