My dad works as a GM in UMW Toyota.

He know a lot of stuff in the automotive industry.

He always said wanna buy Honda but never dapat Honda coz everytime new Camry come out, they replace him new Company car.

But few months back, when i wanna get the Civic, he dun allow.. he said it's either u drive ur current old Altis or get a BMW.

Well a lot things i sked reveal here (later dad kena pecat) but what i can say is..

Toyota & Honda cars were superior. They're very good. But that is last time. The toyota Altis i driving(not the current model) profit margin is lower compared to the current new Altis. The old altis they use high quality build and everything is good material, hence last time the selling price was RM121k. But the new altis cost is very low.. all the parts also wanna cut-cost. With the new CEO of Toyota having the founder bloodline, he is very arrogant and a lot top executives wanna sabotage him (hence the sticky pedal). The Vios was a good car, but the new version use too much cheap stuff liao.. they sourced the parts to cheaper supllier. even the UMW/AISB/ASSB produce good quality parts but sell to proton and perodua.

So to those current old altis/vios/camry owners, ur car is good dun simply sell... 2nd hand altis(yr 2003) can sell good price still.

Dun under estimate national car esp Perodua, coz the parts and manufacturing team is AISB/UMW wan.

no lah.. cannot compare like that.. just that not all perodua cars is sucky lo.. and not necessary jap car is good-est liao.
proton i not sure la.. but UMW supplies a lot parts to proton as well. bare in mind these parts ARE the same parts used in ur toyota when u send to toyota service center.

umm.. diff around rm100k oni .. still ok la.. i not saying bmw > toyota (alto is fact) i just said my dad rather i not take honda & toyota.

mazda and nissan i no komen. but dun b surprise if they aso cut cost.. lol

he said honda aso ada problem wohhh...

i think 1 way to spot is.. if the older model initial selling price is higher than current model initial selling price.. meaning they cut a lot cost liao, tat's why manage to sell so cheap for current model.

oh macam tu ka.. wokkay.. =P meaning kenot seee from price liao.. den i dunno liao.. hahaha

no lah.. retirement coming soon liao..

coz i saw the city kena langgar by viva thread... i suddenly rememberd loh.. this thing..

oh ya.. just to share... my altis kena langgar by kenari b4 last time.. the whole kenari hancur in front til kena call tow truck coz kenot start liao (radiator or wat shit) i was 18 tat time so i dunno shyt. my car back bumper nothing at all, only some scratch.. i was damn proud of my car.... then dad tell me.. outside looks tough but inside actually dah berkecai.. then he go change the bumper liao (staff price manyak cheap)
