IBM introduced technology today designed to stop spam by identifying the Internet domain it came from and to help spot online scams such as phishing attacks and e-mail spoofing.

The idea behind the technology is that when a spam email is received, it is immediately sent back to the originating computer - not an email account

what you summarized is nothing like what the article describes. it appears to be just another variation of IP blacklisting.

Anyone who are interested in Anti-SPAM Technology can join the IM2000 project (Internet Mail 2000) discussion. There are many anti-spam technology projects most are properiety and not Open Source.

IM2000 project by Prof Dan Bernstein, the author of qmail, has described the basics of a replacement for SMTP: Internet Mail 2000 and it address SPAM mail issues.

Ur are refering to spam Zombies, where source of Spammer as not traceable. And will FairUCE technology able to isolate a spam Zombies?

From the FairUCE's works it look for IP address of spam Zombies and does a DNS lookup for valid domain. It results failed then email filtered as spam.

I'm still in the stage of testing FaireUCE technology...and for more info on how FairUCE work click here
