a quick question
since most ppl will use dedicated graphic card anyway
is there any way to ultilize the internal graphics for others purpose?
maybe for physic? becoz it seems like a big waste
the graphic core can perform calculations also

a quick answer:
gpu inside sandy bridge disabled by P67 chipset because there are no onboard graphic port. you may want to use it on H67.
*
i know p67 wont ultilize it
i mean, it is so waste of resource while the gpu is there, but we cant use it for others purpose.
the gpu core is a quite big portion in the cpu

maybe they can enabled it for others purpose like parrallel processing or somtin else?

Z68 should be around Q2,if Bulldozer is not delayed then it's going to go head to head with SB + Z68

Anandtech said Intel has some sort of use for the unused IGP planned, maybe like hybrid graphics later down the road. But as of now imo it's such a waste P67 doesn't support video output/H67 doesn't support CPU OC doh.gif
*
hybrid graphics means?
if the integrated graphic can works as cuda or physic then it will be great!

switchable only useful for laptops to save power
intel shud put in 2 more cores instead of the graphic core
and the price remains same!

can, can't OC CPU and no dual x16 lane only. also can't use quick sync if you switch to discrete GPU.
*
but can switch between GPU right?
if buy 2300 or 2400 den no need overclock also since overclock not much also
right?

http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/intel-f...pments-stopped/

wat does it means actually?

"The Sandy Bridge microprocessor is unaffected and no other products are affected by this issue."

the chipset are affected only, chipset means the mobo chip?

Intel to Start Shipping B3 Stepping Cougar Point Chipset from February 14
Intel seems to have fast-tracked its Cougar Point chipset flaw rectification. The silicon giant claims that it will be in a position to start shipping B3 stepping of Cougar Point chipsets (Intel P67, H67, etc,) from 14 February, to OEM partners. According to the latest PCN (product change notification), number 110456-00 dated 2/9/2011, Cougar Point B3 will carry the following changes/features:

* Revision ID will change from 04h to 05h
* BIOS Update (Revision 1.1.4 of the BIOS Specification Update and Reference Code)
* B3 stepping package is pin compatible with B2 stepping package
* Minor metal layer change from B2 to B3 improving lifetime wear out with no changes to functionality or design specifications

Of the above, the last bullet point affirms that the SATA 3 Gb/s port defect issue, which caused physical parts of the chipset to wear out abnormally fast, degrading performance, is resolved.

do we still need to wait till early april for new batch in malaysia?
would it be early march?

I went viewnet hyper store on third floor just now. I saw a lot p8p67, I asked them is it got problem. They tell me their thing no problem one. I sweat. They dun even know got the sata bug...
I actually wan to ask when new batch.will Arrive, as Intel start shipping on 14/2
But their answer made me speechless
I feel sorry for all those buyer, as the shop ppl dun even tell them need to rma afterwards. A lot ppl will just buy without knowing the product has problem

I m not saying viewnet only. As their items are usually cheaper, so I went it first.

My friend's rig a Core i7 2600 + Hyper212+ idling around that range as well..I don't think it is normal but definitely something is not right there
I must try to see whether I could get lower temperatures by aiming it towards the rear 120mm exhaust fan instead..
Is your Hyper212+ facing upwards where the fan is blowing upwards toward the top of the casing?
*
my hyper212 is blowing from rear to front
while my rear fan is sucking air from outside into casing
