Bought it at compuzone

Anyways couldn't manage to test the oc capabilities yet as one of my memory stick malfunction for no reason lol.

Althought i clicked "Performance mode" in the asus bios and it's automatically oc to 4.4ghz prime 95 stable but didn't bother checking  the temperature as I haven't install my new cooler.

This is the first time I'm using intel and I have no idea how does the Turbo Boost feature works 

I didn't see 3570k price list at c zone ? how much you bought ?

when i bought 2600k + p8p67 @ 27/12/2010, it is not listed in their pricelist. i just heard from some source, went there, found it and bought.

The 3570K is not on the price list, i went there yesterday and get myself a piece of it too.

Seem like 3570k owner doesn't want to share the price. haha....

All IB owner here got kidnapped by Intel for breaking NDA.

Should be just fine since our ambient temps are ~30-32C at most during the day. Just stick to 4.5GHz and below 1.3V and you should be fine even on air coolers.

Anyways I bought it at RM799 which is way overpriced but since I am upgrading from an AMD so the extra 100+ just pay la.

You can still check OC with healty stick of RAM (single channel).

i have the asus z77 already, didnt see the ivys
already ordered and hopefully this weekend can build it up

If you try to compare their spec hand to.hand, u will.find asrock is better and also in pricing tern

But Asrock brand reliable ? i know it's from asus but will it having some RMA issue ?
btw , Asrock PWM is using Intersil Analog PWM.Will it affect OC performance ? (dont know much about it just read some review)

Downside; RM 6**. Good side; some claim Asus better than Asrock (no offense) but for me, it's just a luck, right?

CHIPMAKER Intel has admitted that its latest Ivy Bridge processors run hotter than its previous generation Sandy Bridge chips.

Intel launched its Ivy Bridge line last week with the firm touting its 22nm process node as its biggest achievement. Intel's smaller process node along with changes in the interface material between the die and the heat spreader have led to reports of higher temperatures.

Overlockers lifted the lid on its Ivy Bridge sample to find that the chip's die had thermal paste on it to interface with the heat spreader, whereas Sandy Bridge processors used solder. Now Intel has confirmed that it is using "a different package thermal technology" on its Ivy Bridge processors.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Intel said the shrink to the 22nm process node leads to higher temperatures due to increased thermal density, adding that "users may observe higher operating temperatures when overclocking". The firm added, "This is as designed and meets quality and reliability expectations for parts operating under specified conditions."

Intel's process node shrink has concentrated heat generation, meaning it needs improved heat dissipation, which judging by reports and our own tests, it doesn't have. Although our tests were conducted on the statistically irrelevant sample size of one, put simply the same heatsink and fan that worked on our Sandy Bridge Core i7 2700K could not cut it on the Ivy Bridge Core i7 3770K.

Intel will claim that Ivy Bridge thermal design power is the same as Sandy Bridge and in this case it is true that temperature isn't linked to power usage. Nevertheless, going by Intel's own admissions overclockers might want to steer away from Ivy Bridge. µ

I cant see the second link but based on the specs your mention the one with PCIe 3.0 *2 with dual 8x can run 2 pci-e slots with 3.0 which is same as pci-e 2.0 16x/16x =D

It's power phase for cpu. Last time I bought low end Asus board with lower power phase, I unlocked and oc'ing my cpu, and it's burned, but luckily no spark or smoke. After some googling and reading at OCN, they said low power phase are not safe for oc'ing and might burned up your mobo and other hardware. And burn here really mean burn where spark and smoke inside your casing for MSI low end mobo. You can google yourself. Better when you read.

take it 3570K 4GHz = 2500K 4.2GHz
the IB runs 10-20C hotter than its equivalent SB

3570K runs 5-7C hotter than 2500K on idle.

Taking 2600K HT off = 2500K (although not equal)
