Congrat on the HD 600 !!! I never regret a bit after buying this headphone.

Anyway, after using it for quite sometime, the earpad is getting older and I am thinking to change to a leather pad. Is there any member in forum selling leather pad ?

why want a leather pad? velour feels just fine

Any HD-25-1 ii users here?
i found it quite sibilant with the stock cable, changing it to hd600 cable does reduce abit.
Will burn in eventually smooth it out?

don't really like the new urbanite, seem too street and bass oriented to me, V-shaped with recessed on mid, how about the new momentum in ear?
*
everyone in head-fi is saying it has a lot of bass
so im just guessing its more towards the mainstream crowd tongue.gif

Wait... The cable from HD650 is detachable? Just use force to unplug?

As of now I am using my smartphone as source. So the original cable is too long. And the supplied converter to 3.5mm is huge...

Does anyone know any affordable solution for shorter cables? Example: 1.2 meter directly into 3.5mm jack

No Amp for now... As it is used in office and I want to stay low profile.

The most I am thinking is to get a Fiio X3K player... which I read that should give better sound as compare to my phone.

Any idea where I can shorten the cables? As well as where got sell soft casing for HD650?
*
Sennheiser hd650 requires a lot of power to really sing
X3k is just fine. But adding an amp would be better.
Cable wise can ask black octagon. I got my starquad cable from them

Ok.. You are right. It seems draw some attentions in office.  sweat.gif
Hmm.. I hope I can test with the amp and without amp in quiet places...

About cables, who is black octagon and how can I contact him?
*
Black octagon can be found in garage sale music and audio accesories sub section.
Amplifier wise a lot of shops provide a good quiet listening place except for jaben nu sentral

Price range?
*
Aune is around 650-700
Schiit stack is around 1k
Depends what sound you were looking for
Schiit stack has a much neutral signature while aune has a more smooth and easy going sound
However if you still want to go for the schiit stack but with the smooth easy going sound, try switch out magni with a vali. But remember tube amp needs a startup time

Hmm... I found these kind of player is confussing because too many around in the market with all fancy specification, which I have no idea how they sound wiht my HD650...

Thus I was looking at dominate choice or the popular one, and thought Fiio is the popular one...  tongue.gif

Different people have different taste in sound
fiio amps are great portable cost effective solution.
Aune t1 was one of the best budget all in one dac amp desktop system.
In the end, if you could audition it yourself do try it out.

Any website with any list to sort the players based on budget?

For Fiio X5, how good or how bad in your opinions?
*
x5 is good but not great, you can try buying an external amp later on.

I heard my friend's Seinnheiser HD25 (with some Adidas collaboration) and those headphones were awesome

He told me he got those headphones awhile back and there might be newer models

Does anyone have anything to recommend from Seinnheiser which is similar to the HD25 or better?

Also, roughly how much is it? The reason I'm asking is because I'm in Australia at the moment and wondering to get here or wait to go back Malaysia only buy..

Thank you so much in advance for the advises, bros.
*
hd25 retails around rm1k in malaysia.
The main reason i sold off the hd25 was the sibilant treble, i cannot handle it. Too piercing
Try the momentum, it retails for 969 now.

How about getting a portable DAC amp instead? Any recommendation?
*
if you wish to have a portable player
i recommend you get a x3ii to use it portably and get a proper desktop amp to really make it shine
portable dac amp simply dont have enough voltage swing to really drive the hd650
i've tried having a good on the go setup with my hd600, dx90 with a shonyun 306a. Improvement isnt quite there for me.
