Hi guys. wanna ask a question on industrial spray paints. I tried using TOA spray which stated acrylic lacquer based. turned out quite smooth and ok for my taste. my only problem was using the gundam marker for panel lining and touch paint after that. i can't rub off excess panel lining marks and the paint starts to come off if i use gundam marker to paint over it. any advice on this? Thanks!

I'm new in gunpla painting and so far only hand-paint and use markers. trying to minimise spending and cleaning hence the hand-paint solution although it takes time to hand-paint.
After giving up on trying to thin tamiya acrylics, I managed to find this Folkart brand at the art store in Gardens Mall..the outcome is a nice flat color after 2-3layers. haven't tried spraying topcoat so not sure how things will turn out.

the paint can be easily thinned with water and cost rm6.90 each biggrin.gif

I was interested in using AB at first but was turned away by the price (am also surprised one can cost less than 200), have to use thinner, the post-cleaning and troublesome to do it in a condo. I'm quite satisfied with the results so would rather hand-paint for now

If you're from PJ, then you just need to get the handpiece and paints. There's a place called ICW@aman suria which provides compressor and spray booth FOC.

WOW googled bout the place and seems like a really good spot. I'm staying at Cheras but working in PJ so will definitely check out the place.
I think I'm easily satisfied with my work since still newbie..but the more I see how awesome other modelers' works are I also want to achieve better results. AB will surely be an option next time

if possible can you put the pic of your gunpla that have been painted with this Folkart paint? if it is good, i will consider to buy the brand

Posting these pictures just to show the colour of the Folkart paint i mentioned. Only the red and black parts are painted with it. the rest used markers.

Didn't prime or sand the parts so I think some parts look like its unpainted..nor did I thoroughly sand out nub marks, fill up seam lines. After looking through alot of sifus work and peoples' comments on their work, looks like thousand miles more away for me so any comments/advice most welcome smile.gif

the lighting helped it look better and I took from only one angle, alot of flaws if u can see it clearly.probably need to prime or sand and paint more layers for best results.
those brands never seen before but if it says can be used on plastics should work out, with AB i'm not sure
