guys, just ordered airbrush from my seller. But i got one question, my seller included a GX100 clear for me(i think is Mr. Color one), he said that one can make it as a protective layer(something like top coat, but this one is glossy i think). but this is first time i use airbrush, so i also dunno about this and i need advice on this. So i just spray this after finish painting?
the sequence is like(correct me if i'm wrong)
primer-->2 to 3 layers of paint-->then this GX100 clear-->decals?-->GX100 again?-->then only panel line wash-->then lastly what?
please bear with me coz totally new in airbrush@@.

hi guys, its me again, and i got a lot of stupid questions again>.< First time airbrush my gundam, but i screw up a bit on panel line part
1. Do we need to thin tamiya panel line accent? Or just straight apply? 2. Anyone use Mr colour GX100 clear? Coz from my seller, he said can be use as top coat, so i mix it with thinner and use it as top coat izzit ok? And when we spray when do we know its enough already(coz its transparent...)? 3. And what i did was spray Mr color GX100 clear, then i tried to apply tamiya panel line accent with wash technique, but when i tried to remove the excess ink i think i also remove the layer of paint underneath T_T. So anyone can point me out where is my mistake?
Any guidance is appreciated. Sorry for all the stupid questions

QUOTE(Noysan @ Nov 16 2012, 10:30 AM) clear coat paints or spray can.. depends on you.. err what should i use for top coat if i wanna do panel line wash later with tamiya enamel paint? Added on November 16, 2012, 11:18 amQUOTE(z3r0717 @ Nov 16 2012, 10:37 AM) htpkevin, Are you staying at PJ? You should check out ICW@Aman Suria for AB guidance and get hands on there.. no i'm not from PJ, i'm from Muar, Johor, but currently studying in Kelantan. Tried google about the top coat but couldn't find the answer i wan. Tried airbrush my kit, was ok but until the panel line part a bit screw up coz when i wanna wash away the excessive one i washed the paint underneath also(Used GX100 to coat the paint before this as suggested by my seller, and i think its a big mistake then) This post has been edited by htpkevin: Nov 16 2012, 11:18 AM

QUOTE(Noysan @ Nov 16 2012, 11:25 AM) You said you used gx100 before, then use it. ya i used GX100, but when i do panel line also washes away the paint underneath. So i guess probably this is not suitable for it>.<. So i'm seeking another alternative...

QUOTE(Noysan @ Nov 16 2012, 11:34 AM) if your based color is acrylic and you panel line wash is enamel, there should be no problem there. Better check you type of paint for based color and the panel line wash color. i used Mr color GX series, as i know its solvent based acrylic paint, and i thinned with Mr thinner. While tamiya panel line accent color is enamel. So both are sort of 'oil-based'? Contraindicated?

QUOTE(Noysan @ Nov 16 2012, 01:45 PM) so basically you thinned your based color (acrylics) with Mr. thinner, then wipe off the panel line wash which is enamel with Mr. thinner too? if this your procedure? There are thinner for lacquers/acrylics and there are thinner for enamel..Mr. thinner is for acrylics. When you wipe the panel lines with Mr. thinner too, then your basically wiping off the whole base paint. used enamel thinner or lighter fluid to wipe out the panel line wash. ya i think thats what i did. So for the Tamiya panel line accent color i should get other type of thinner? So if i change to wash the panel line with other thinner so and underlying base paint and the GX100 clear coat won't be affected? Sorry for all these stupid question
