Hello guys, if I may, I would like to ask regarding chrome powder. Where can I obtained it in vicinity of KL? Is it sold in BTS area? I read some article regarding it, they use black gloss before using the powder. Can other colours be used as well i.e. white gloss?

Thank you in advance smile.gif

so is best done in hot weather? my house humidity is quite extreme i guess, the clipper and cutting knife that i put in the drawer got rusty after 1 week doh.gif

oh yeah, btw, how you all keep your modeling tools? it seems like my room is too humid to put untreated metal
*
Coating should be done in dry warm temperature, at least that's what I did. Better if do it outside. Do wear mask at least to make sure you don't inhale the gas.

As for me, I never encountered humidity problem. All of my stuffs are stasted inside my cupboard.

Good that u salvage your kit.

For making it look nice, i think the first think is to sand down the nip marks, cover seamlines etc, do all the fundamental groundwork nicely. Without doing so, any kind of  so-called "modification" will look just ameturish n unfinished.

Hope to see the finish kit soon! Gambate icon_rolleyes.gif

Noted. But it will take quite a while before I can finish it. Thanks man smile.gif

I did bought the Krylon camo spray from ACE Hardware. Never tried it yet. Bought it because the green colour is nice.
The camo spray comes in many camo colours Parody eg dark green, khaki etc, not myriads of colours in one can tongue.gif

I did tried once, as far as I tried, it's kinda hard to make the colour stick to the end of the needle itself tongue.gif

guys, is this how i suppose to apply my water-slide decals?  icon_question.gif
flat topcoat > decal > flat topcoat again

am i doing it rite? any tips if i'm wrong with it?  smile.gif
*
Well, if I'm not mistaken, should be gloss topcoat, decal then apply another topcoat. The gloss top coat is to provide a smooth surface to make it easier to position the water-slide decals, reduce silvering etc. Correct me if I am wrong sweat.gif

Guys, a question:
is it necessary to glosscoat before decaling, then using mr mark softer, of it's already sufficient to use mr mark softer? Just want to know your opinion regarding this. I'm using spray can, to lazy to handpaint, to poor to afford a airbrush. BTW I'm kitbashing this model

It's just for experimentation on gunpla skills, because I know I lack of it. So I think this kitbash model is okay before I'm doing more serious colouring to my other precious model kits. Just want to see my own result, so that I can improve in what department I'm lacking.

this
btw, AB is not as expensive as many think. if you live in around pj/kl area, you can just go to icw and they have compressors available there, so all you need is just get a hand piece, which costs less than 100 bux for a basic one. costs less than one MG ma.. then, get the basic paint colors, white, black, red, yellow, blue as basic colors and you're done! other colors, you can mix loh.. in the long term, its a lot cheaper than the hobby spraypaints, and not to mention alot more consistent too!  thumbup.gif
*
Okay, thank you shauno for the explanation. Might visit ICW soon because now me and my friend is enjoying finding hobby shops that are near. Regarding the airbrush, I will think about it, because still not yet confident with own personal skill sweat.gif Later in time will surely go for AB

Can't really do for the whole kit. Penat man.
Did tried once because I lack the knowledge back then on my HG Tieren. Won't ever do it again sweat.gif
Thanks shauno smile.gif Might post mine kit when finished later in appropriate thread

I think fi want to improve the appearance, the first u need to tackle now is those nip marks n seamlines. Without getting rid of these stuff, no matter how much u modify your kit, it will look half cook/ unfinished.
*
I also tried in eliminating seamlines and nub marks. Personally I'm satisfied, but truthfully, I think I do need to improve more on that department. Thank you rayloke for your opinion regarding this smile.gif

Well, I tried to remove the seam lines, but it seems that I still suck in that department. Poor man's mod BTW, so I use whatever I have to do this kit
user posted image
Still in progress. Please avert your attention from seamlines sweat.gif
Other than that obvious flaws, what other department that I need to improve on?
