Remember going barefoot as a child? It’s the way you first discovered and conquered your world—without the constraint of shoes. Or the sense of duty you acquired later on. Now you can experience that same physical and visceral sensation in Vibram FiveFingers—the only footwear to offer the exhilarating joy of going barefoot with the protection and sure-footed grip of a Vibram® sole. FiveFingers footwear connects you to the earth and your surroundings in a way that is simply not possible in conventional shoes. It puts you in touch with the earth beneath your feet and liberates you to move in a more natural, healthy way.
FiveFingers stimulate the muscles in your feet and lower legs to build strength and improve range of motion. Our customers report an increased sense of balance, greater agility, and visibly improved posture. Choose from a variety of designs to cover the wide range of activities you would rather do barefoot—everything from fitness training and yoga, to running and trekking, to kayaking and sailing. Discover a level of performance and a connection to your environment that is positively without peer.

Imitation is the sinceret form of flattery...

The one mentioned selling in the flea market is the 5Finger wannabe. Looks the same, but you pay peanuts...

I've been wearing mine since 2008...

Saw it there but the other day I went, no one entertained me.
So eventually went back to Yellowstone aka Lafuma to get a pair of KSO TrekSport.

Don't know....maybe I'm not the type that look "rich"... tongue.gif
Was standing there with my wife and baby looking at that section for quite sometime as well as walking in the shop for awhile, but the only person at the counter just never bother to approach us. So just be it... their losses, not mine. wink.gif

However, their selection is more than what Lafuma store have.

lafuma and celebrity fitness are authorized reseller, selling at cekik darah price to cover for their expensive rentals, etc., and trying to keep the product "exclusive". got mine from mudah, rm250. careful though, lotsa fake ones.

i know the sg wang shop. that is a very old shop. been there since 80s. they kept their reputation with original stuffs. but vffs looks suspicious. the embroidery on kso looks like cheap work.

Vibrams are expensive for pair of "sandal" looking shoes (Sarcasm there, k).

Good news is other reputable shoe retailiers are coming up with their versions of Vibram. FILA's got their own called Skeletoes. Got a set for half the price of Vibram.

Vibram shoes take a little getting used due to its flatness. But once you are used to it, it's great especially for light impact activities.

No matter how others imitate it, the vibram essence isn't about the funky finger design, rather, it's the way they make shoes bottom with promising quality and grips

Huh what did you get for RM250?!
Even the Classic cost US$75, lets say we go by the exchange rate 3.3, then it RM247.50.

My Treksport I got it for RM469. US price is US$100, going by that exchange rate, yeah it should only cost RM330. If I'm going to ship it back on my own, most probably another RM60-80 for shipping cost Thus around RM400 I would say. So I don't think the price of RM469 is that "expensive" considering I don't have to order myself fearing the size and cutting as well as waiting for a week for it to arrive.

Maybe if I am to travel down to Singapore, will probably get it cheaper. But then again, travelling cost?... hmm.gif

Whoever getting the RM250 deal on KSO for sure is getting the fake one. The fake one is 95% identical to real one, why I know, cause I am the victim. But should functionally the same. I from reliable source running feel is the same. Of course I don expect it to last but still holidng well until now.

Cheap thing aint real, real thing aint cheap for VFF. smile.gif

Hi all!

Running has been my primary form of exercise for many years, and recently I started having what I suspect is shin splints.

So I'm going to try out this VFF to see if my shin splints gets better.

Any of you know which store carries the most selection and choice of VFF? Is it Lafuma Bangsar, Running Lab Tropicana Mall or Celebrities Fitness?

Hi...

Er... mind you, VFF is not cheap cost about RM400++ to RM500 if you get from SG and managed claims 7% GST refund.

A simple solution would be running barefoot of soft ground like field in park, beaches...
You can try jog slowly on the field, on the grass to try out how's your running feel and ur shin splints.

If this show improvement over time, then you might consider getting VFF to run on road and farer... .

this just my 2cents.

Yes, you're right. Totally agree with you. It's quite a significant investment.

I did not decide to buy VFF overnight. I have started running with those minimalist shoe made for water sports, where it doesn't have thick sole like normal running shoe.

Because of the thin sole, I had to change my running techniques and my shin splint pain actually starting to disappear gradually.

But I started getting blisters between my toes, because those water sport shoe wraps around your toes quite tightly.

So I finally decide to get VFF. Although its expensive it will be worth it for me as running is my primary form of exercise.

Because it is so expensive, I want to make sure that I will be getting the right model. That is why I like to know which store carries the most model for me to test it out.

Glad to see you been into running and know what's you are getting.

Bikila - specific design for running.

KSO - lot of runners use this before Bikila is born.

Now, Komondo - new improved model from KSO.

I have friend get the VFF from US store under RM300, as you know VFF did not ship outside USA, thus he using 3rd party forwarder services which uses US address and from there ship back to Msia.

It's up to individual on which channel to get VFF.

anyway, no comment on your mentioned stores in KL.
