With Akabane's permission, I would like to borrow this thread to do a little survey, just to feed my curiosity. I have 3 questions:
1. What is the average age here? I mean, people who read and participates in this thread.
I am 30 by the way.
2. What kind of songs do you listen to?
I am a Darren Hayes/Celine Dion/Phil Chang guy with the occassional Michael Buble and Chai Ching.
3. How do you listen to your songs?
I am mostly on the move, so my music are MP3 ripped at 320kbps done with Windows Media Player. To my untrained ears, they sound the same as FLAC ripped by CDex. Playback wise, on the move, I use a Sony Ericsson W995 wirelessly bluetooth-ed to my Jabra BT3030 coupled with a pair of Sennheiser CX-400. At home, on my desktop, I use Foobar 2000, output via my Asus Xonar Essence STX to my Audio Technica ATH-M30, or via optical out to my Logitech Z5500.
It's interesting for me to know these answers because I come from a home theater surround sound background (story for another day) and I am only beginning to go into music, and although I am green, I still have some knowledge with a certain amount of expectation to my music. Plus, if my guess is correct, it is interesting to see that the younger generations are beginning to take over what I call the 'uncle market' for music appreciation. Even more interesting is the fact that the head-fi group is making so much progress, catching up, if not surpassing the hi-fi industry.
Yea, I know. I think too much.
