possibly more of a pricing issue,
especially since ad700 can get for around rm500 online last time, instead of rm800+ for ad900..
as for the dt880.. all i can say is that it has a fun signature, different than audio tech. some might prefer that. i've never tried ad900, but most audio tech sounds similar.

hehe.. didnt know u tried that many.. i said it bcoz i tried ad300, ad700, ck10, fc55 (very old one), and ur woods collection.. they seem to have this distinct AT sound.

if u can audition both, would be better.
anyways not many people prefer amping because of excess package and wiring.. laugh.gif
and not many people can appreciate the amp..
but the cans are good to go as it is as well.. smile.gif

u'll be suprised how light the ad700 is despite the size and looks smile.gif
ad700 is also bass light. nice for jazz as well. but im not sure if i can say anything over here, i dont own ad700.. my only working headphone now is the vintage.. the hd201 suda barai.. laugh.gif

believe me, i was very impressed how burnin changes the quality of his w1000x...
its remarkably smooth after 1000hr+.. a very clean detail monster. cool.gif
back then when it was just 600hr.. it sounded harsh and grainy.. i cant wear it for long, though it does shows all details already.
