I have one, sounds nice without amp and better with one. Good with R&B and Rock but if amped with good mid range amp, can be used with Salsa and other stuff. It has quite recessed mid so vocals sound a bit backward unless amped. But dont get me wrong, even if mid is less, it still pawn anything else below its price especially in portable range. Just my 2 cents.

How bout for esw9? Actually I like the sound of my ms1. Just that it's too open. How's d signature if compare with ms1? I listen mostly to vocal, jazz. Like Emi fujita, Diana krall, micheal buble, Louis Armstrong. Etc.

If you can stand 'bland' in your ear type of sound, then its perfect for your budget...

Again..the Pro5MS would be perfect if you can stand 'bland' in your ears type of sound...The AD300 is what you should get if you want to obtain a relaxing listening session of high quality ripped music...

M50 is not open, and like the Pro5MS or the M30, is targeted towards studio ppl..

The less wide soundstage makes listening a bit of 'stress' with these headphone if you are talking of using it during leisure hours listening songs that is supposed to let you relax and enjoy the 'ambiance'...Studio ppl don't relax because they are doing their job of making sure you will able to listen to high quality audio reproduction/recordings via your Ipod/Hifi/computer...

If they skimp during the recording/mastering process, even a 30k amplifier with a HD800 also can't provide you with the best sound...


You sure you want to dump it all on a pair of closed full size???Why not you try and indulge yourself on a pair of good open air cans, then only you reconsider getting a Studio closed back design headphone...Unless you are talking about closed back Woodies, then its a different story...

because i thout using it portable but AD300 seems interesting...owh u mean dj or monitoring headphones...less sounstage..n require FOCUS to listen n not "leisure" listening eh...
