Wow, those are very very nice temps!! All of them below 30C drool.gif tongue.gif

18C ambient temps? You must have a powerful aircond then hehe!

Hey guys, about time I posted my results here:

user posted image

Running 245 2-2-2-8 with Twinmos SP at 3.5vdimm. Only been through one burn in session at 200 3.4vdimm. Need to burn in this sucker more before I get higher HTT biggrin.gif

EDIT: Did a few more tests later and swapped my Twinmos between the slots. Memtest is wayy much more stable. Here's a new screenie with 2.8Ghz! Btw, all results were achieved using the stock cooling. Temps shot up to 68-69C while doing 1M superpi.

Here it is:

Thanks PCcrazy! I won't be water cooling the CPU yet until I can afford 2 X 6800GT's. After I get those cards then I will water cool CPU and the GPU's. For the time being I think I will only be doing benchmarks as the temps during load using stock cooling is almost touching 70C already! shocking.gif

Whoaaa, look at the size of that thing!!! I'm sure it really blows!!! tongue.gif tongue.gif

Hehehe, anyway jokes aside, I don't feel like pushing the proc much further on stock cooling. 70C is much too high for me when previosly my xp-m at 2.7Ghz load is only 36C! Oh well, back to the ram burner!

I think some CPU's memory controller aren't as good as others. I've seen users running higher FSB's using the same ram but with a different CPU. The CAA2C Newcastles or Clawhammers have excellent memory controllers and usually increases max FSB by about 5FSB smile.gif

Wow, those are nice temps! What kind of overclocks do you get with those temps?

Nice OC's people. Keep it up! smile.gif

Btw, is the increase in HTT noticeable in benchmarks and/or real world applications itself? Does it really boost performance significantly comparing same memory settings in 1:1 and with higher HTT (dividers)?

Yea, I agree with PCcrazy. No point upgrading to something which is almost the same. Unfortunately, up to date I haven't even got to used my A64 setup as my mobo still away for RMA sad.gif

I won't be upgrading anymore too after I complete my SLI rig. If I do, it will most probably be a dual core CPU.

Hehe i'm pretty happy with mine. Benchable at 2.8Ghz using stock cooler but temps went up to 69C. Due to the high temps I refrained from any long term stability tests. Just can't wait till my mobo returns then I can setup my water cooling and do some real stability tests instead of just benching. smile.gif

Yea, I tried to RMA at local distro and just today received some bad news from them. The RMA dept replied that since its a physical damage to the board its not covered under warranty.

I complained to them that its a manufacture fault. If the damage was caused by user due to inserting different ram slots then that means the board should never be allowed to be sold in the first place. Should that also mean that I am not allowed to change ram as often as I like? Would you or anyone call that an 'enthusiasts' motherboard?

They're giving me a load of bullshit now. As of now they have not replied my email with my complaints. I've been very nice and polite with them so far but I think I've had enough.

If they still reject my RMA I guess i'll be left with 2 options. First is to sell off the mobo to someone who can fix it themselves or they can find some other way to RMA and purchase a new one for myself. Second option would be to courier the mobo back to Taiwan which would probably cost me 1/3 the price of the mobo and wait God knows how long before they return it to me.

Sorry for venting out here. It's just so frustrating dealing with this especially after spending a huge amount of money on a crippled mobo which I only used for about 2-3 days for testing.

the ram slot got problem...one of connecting pin something...he mentioned that before..
from what i see it...the distro dun want to bear the cost of RMA or exchange it coz it's not they selling the board...so they just give tons of bullshits to scare u off...really sorry for u...
Yeap, that's right remysix. The distro I returned in to do sell those motherboads. In fact they're one of the main distros here in Australia I think. They're just trying being very anal about it. I've brought this issue up at dfi-street and hopefully they can influence the distro's decision. Here's the link for those interested: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10829

Be warned though that its a rather long post!

Thanks for your concern guys. I guess i'm one of the unlucky ones to receive a motherboard like this. What annoys me the most is its electronics and problems like these surface every once in awhile. They should simply remedy it by offering a replacement without having to go through so much trouble.

At least for now it seems AG agrees with me and has consulted his boss regarding this issue. Hopefully they can elevate this matter to DFI Taiwan and change some of their policies in other regions. DFI USA's RMA is pretty fast and efficient in handling such things. There's no reason why other regions can't be just as eficient too.

Oh well, this issue has been delaying my SLI rig. Currently my CAA2C, UTT ram, OCZ 600W and water cooling setup is all collecting dust. If I have to purchase a new mobo I don't think I can afford to go for a SLI setup anymore due to unplanned financial setbacks.

Thanks for the support over at dfi-street remysix smile.gif. Hopefully that would speed up the process for RMA if its approve or perhaps influence the decision makers to change their mind.

As for my other parts, I won't be selling any of them at all tongue.gif. Especially not my CAA2C when its only got 2-3 days of workout hehe! I am planning to sell the motherboard though if RMA is not approved so I can cut my losses. From there only I can decide my next step. wink.gif

De_Cruelz, mind to show us what ur caa2c is capable of...
Now that u got everything in place, slap that watercool setup and start posting some screenies... laugh.gif
Hehe not exactly yet bro. I'm waiting for another XFX 6800GT to arrive some time next week then that'll be a complete SLI rig.

I think water cooling might have to wait a little longer rhough as I need to get the Maze4 SLI kit. The normal GPU blocks won't fit on a DFI NF4 board unfortunately. Another setback today too, I think my Twinmos UTT is dead. One of the sticks isn't booting sad.gif

Have to contact chinsc to see if I can get a replacement. Sigh, dunno why so unlucky lately, first the mobo problem then now the RAM. Now i'm short of cash already as I was actually gonna sell my BH6 and keep only the Twinmos.

Nah, not 24/7. I just got my new mobo less than 24 hours ago smile.gif

I was running my TMSP at 3.5vdimm and after turning it off, installed a CD drive then powered it on and couldn't boot anymore from there. Thankfully I still have my BH6 which I was gonna sell to fund my water cooling. Damn, first mobo KO then now RAM also KO! sad.gif
