QUOTE(Duke Red @ Apr 19 2010, 09:23 AM) My heart says anyone but Man Utd. However, Liverpool fan or not, it would be stupid to suggest throwing the game against Chelsea when we still have Europe to fight for. People can belittle the Europa league all they want, after all it is a second tier competition but qualifying for it means more profit. One can make fun of the Carling Cup or Europa league but see if they celebrate when their team wins either of those trophies. More often than not, you'll find a group of hypocrites right there. We were made fun of when we won the "Mickey Mouse" treble under Houllier (we did win a total of 5 trophies in that season), but think back to see if winners of any of those competitions in subsequent years celebrated? ahaha after all ppl prefer bigger cups. but with torres out kind of hard right .. mebbe could be a blessing in disguise so other players could step up and be counted ... numerous time liverpool were better without torres

QUOTE(samlee860407 @ Apr 19 2010, 09:31 AM) i think why some of man utd fans saying that is because, as man utd fans like us, we do have some liverpool fans that say they will rather lose to deny man utd to win the title. Yes, there are such fans, and when I heard it, i just sigh... Like I said, if we had nothing to play for than I myself would jump on the ABU bandwagon, but we do. It's been said that Standard Chartered included a clause in the contract which determines the amount of sponsorship for next season. This in turn is directly related to whether or not we qualify for the Champions League which looks to be a forgone conclusion by now. I'm sure it includes a clause for now qualifying for Europe all-together. It's like I said before, some people just don't live in the real world or understand how it works.

Against Birmingham, Rafa withrew him because he was "tired" and N'Gog who came in after spurned 2 clear chances to give us the lead. Just as how you lot seem to rely a lot on Rooney's superb form this season, or for the 2nd half of it anyway, we are rely heavily upon Torres for goals.

why are we talking about liverpool in this thread? they have an outside chance of getting 4th. we should focus on talks about tottenham and man city
unless we are also talking about the race for 6th since liverpool is eying to qualify for the secondary european competition

If anything, Spurs have a big say, not us.

Yes we do have an outside chance which is why I think posters suggesting we'd throw our game against Chelsea are nothing short of ignorant, especially when we aren't guaranteed a place in Europe yet. The long term future of the club matters more.

I can only hope Villa and Everton bite on Liverpool's arses and make it difficult for them, forcing them to need a result. Believe it or not, I think it's destined to be Liverpool giftwrapping #19 for us. I'll remember that day with joy.

I was referring to arsenal's title race. There was a wankfest(by media) about them getting the title due to their easiest run in. Look what has happened. Those clubs at the bottom are much more dangerous.. Villa nick full points at Hull. Team GP PtsSpurs 34 64 City 34 62 Villa 35 61 L'pool 35 59 This post has been edited by boxsystem: Apr 22 2010, 05:14 AM
