Guyz

My nexus one is configured as per below

QUOTE
Maxis APN for Nexus One
You just need only ONE APN. Fill only the fields specified here. Leave others as they are!
1) Home -> Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Mobile networks -> Access Points Name
2) Menu -> New APN
Name = Maxis(3G)
APN = unet
Username = maxis
MMSC = http://172.16.74.100:10021/mmsc
MMS proxy = 202.75.133.49
MMS port = 80
APN type = default,mms

3G is working without doubt but data connection is running in the background. And I credit amount is running low without my notice

I have tried installing APNDroid, and apparently data connection is not running but I cant MMS at the same time. I have enabled Mms option in APNDroid but still not working.

I need some help on the above at least to get the MMS working without having to turn on GPRS/3G Data all the time

Will Google Stop Producing Nexus One

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...-one-2010-5.DTL

At least before killing the phone, release the new firmware to fix the bugs please. Anyone knows exact date other than in May 2010 for the latest firmware release?

is tat news real or just something to attack google android platform?
*
No, I dont think they are after android platform which is gaining popularity through out years and its open source.

From My Opinion, carrier is US is not having the same opinion with Google's Marketing Strategy which is to sell the phone on their own as well as to the carrier

oh, you mean they sell the phone like how we did in malaysia, meaning the US telco prefer them to just release the phone tied together with their contract right?

QUOTE(hye @ May 11 2010, 11:36 AM)
I would agree on the article's comments on the level of efficiency for their CS.
And if Google were smart enough ... they should have instead open the sale to international markets instead of restricting it. Good product but someone should fire their marketing guy for coming up with such a 'brilliant'  shakehead.gif  idea to sell the phone.
*
I would agree with both of you

eagerly waiting for this update to be released.

Will be good if they enable FM Radio as well as some of the web has mentioned that N1 has the hardware capability to enable FM Radio.

Apart from that, look forward for this update to solve some bugs/problems in N1

As Malaysia is not in the list of Google - you have to "trick" the Google server to accept Malaysian credit card. It is a very easy process - first you need to root your phone. Setup an account at Google checkout on your PC and key in all Msian CC details.

On your phone Download Market Enabler a free app. Run the app and Google server will recognize your phone as a ATT phone ( if you have chosen ATT ). When you run Market program , the free and paid apps will appear together. Select any paid app - it will auto check your CC account  and download will follow - all this takes usually less than 30 secs and you have a new app in your phone

Good Day Bro

FYI, I have just bought my N1 and its going to be 1 Month. Apart from to ability to download Paid Apps, what are other benefits that we get from rooting our phone and is it advisable to root our phone. If yes, there are many type of ROM and Kernel available, please advise the best for Nexus One. A link to a step by step tutorial will be appreciated.

Finally, after rooting the phone, will I be able to update to the latest firmware (Android), let say Froyo 2.2? Will there be any notification to update when I'm online?

Hoping for some good detailed answer on this smile.gif

I will still wait for someone to reply on the above before proceeding to root my Nexus..

Meantime, My Nexus is using Build ERE27, so which superboot version should I download between the 2 below. Please advise himem pros and cons too if possible
Superboot for ERE27 - DOWNLOAD - MD5: 19d302e1bcb18932f009d2a36a3d688f
Superboot for ERE27 with himem enabled - DOWNLOAD - MD5: 96a33732400d08888c605557c849ec61

Which is the best ROM
http://theunlockr.com/downloads/android-do...-one-roms/#menu

And I have been looking that most of the user prefer Cynogen Custom ROM. But I can only get
Cyanogenmod For Nexus One V5.0.6 (04/15/2010), but not the updated CM 5.0.7-N1-T2 as stated here. So, any advise on this?

Is there anymore steps to be done to make nexus a better phone?

Just use Amon Recovery to do it. You have option to do it. Backup your data as this process will erase all your data

Bro, I have rooted my N1, installed Customer Recovery Image and Custom ROM, am I doing the right thing?

Do I have to install 'Kernel' seperately? And I didnt backup during my flashing, is that the cause?

After rooting my N1 and installing it with CyanogenMod-5.0.6-N1, I have a few questions

1. I have Partitioned SD Card, enabled Apps2SD, Downloaded Market Apps will be installed on SD Card but it will still consume a little more space on phone memory, I have installed around 20 + apps, it has consume around 10mb of phone memory, is that normal? If No, how to rectify the problem?

2. After Installing CyanogenMod, I have some icon on my phone which is not there previously, its DevTools, SIMToolkit,Spare Parts and Terminal Emulator. Do we need to have this apps on the phone? Can we uninstall it safely without any problem.

3. I have also installed YXflash Player, which supports AVI, the apps was working perfectly before I rooted my phone and install custom rom but now it doesnt, always giving error and force close, any idea?

4. I have also installed APNDroid, i have disabled 3G but MMS is still enabled, but it still connect the browser and gtalk using 3G Connection. Some suugestion please.

Have a nice weekend and enjoy your Nexus

Syah

Check out Ebay many choices - I bought mine TeamClass brand got it within a week and cheap US60

1. Did you check whether your Apps2SD is successfully enabled ? Just download from Market freeware Quick System Info : you can check your Apps2SD partition storage here - just check the TOTAL and FREE figures before installing any apps and after . Some data will be installed in memory is quite similar to Windows when you install program on another drive, some system data will be installed in the windows/system folder

2. Yes can safely uninstalled if you dun use these

3. YX FLash - are you using a original version or some "ahem pirated version " ??? I don't have this issue

4. Dun use APNDroid - so cannot help. Actually no need to use any other such software - the builtin is goood enough to manage your 3G connections
*
Thanks for your reply. As for YXFlash, i'm using the

, but i dont have this problem when I'm using the Original Shipped ROM.

As for APNDroid, i dont intend to use it at first, but there are quite a number of apps running in background which requires data connection. And this has cost me much RM, as hotlink has deducted my prepaid a/c, any other apps can do the job? To make it simple, I only want to enable MMS no 3G data

how to uninstall these apps when they dont appear in the application list ie Application>Manage Applications
