The Broadcom chip? The hardware is not activated for FM radio. And the new 2.2 API doesnt include any low level transmitter/receiver access. I/O keynotes didnt even mentioned about this feature. So, the 2.2 update most likely wont include any FM radio updates (well, we can never be sure until FroYo is actually released to the masses).
*
Hope it integrate, I assume it is firmware issue rather than hardware.

Pros
- Speedy even without OC.
- Compatible with pershoot UV/OC 2.6.33.4 or 2.6.34 kernel.
- Linpack performance as mention, huge increasing than Eclair 2.1 ROM.
- Adobe Flash 10.1 beta can be download at Market Store and working.
- Smoother Launcher2.
- Some graphics enchancement.
- New widgets added.
- Intergrate Tethering & portable hotspot.
- Data Access On Off Function.
- Fast boot-up time.

Cons
- Metamorph seems not working. XDA forum got thread of non working apps in froyo.
- Some paid apps is missing in Market Store.
- Apps2SD is not able to move the app if the app is not redesign for froyo. Using below command fix the issue.

Make Apps2SD working
- adb remount
- adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2

Already on Froyo thanks to the guide. Still playing around ... but yes the whole thing look faster. Some apps would not work as it should e.g Handcent, Jorte - reinstalling does not work, I suspect error is caused by incompatibilities with Froyo.

Can someone advice me on the Install to SD card thing ? I'm not sure whether it is built into Froyo or you will need App2SD?
*
Make bundle Apps2SD working
- adb remount
- adb shell pm setInstallLocation 2

If you are root, you could try the Paul one which install easier via RA-Recovery.

Ya, widgets need to install Internal Memory.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Currently can't use trackball wake up to unlock the phone for Froyo but I found a great third party lockscreen which can use trackball to wake up.

It is call LockBot Pro, paid app and can get via Market Store, or just search around for eh..hmmm version tongue.gif

user posted image user posted image user posted image user posted image

Benefits of LockBot Pro
- Lot of lockscreen themes for download.
- Ability to change backgroud image for download themes.
- Run randomly on all install lockscreen.
- Ability to hide status bar.
- Trackball wake-up.
- Smooth and no FC issue.

facing a lot of problem in restoring my apps from CM 5.0.6 app2sd.
problems i face: rclxub.gif
- once restart all apps disappear. when u check in manage application, no detail show for all the application.
- when this happen, u cant install or uninstall.
==
not sure what goes wrong.
- i wipe factory reset, wipe ccache, wipe sd ext...i wipe everything b4 i flash it.
- after flash, run adb cmd.
- restore apps from titanium backup.

any steps i miss? rclxub.gif

ps: flash back to 5.0.6 yesterday nite.
*
Install back manually, don't use Titanium, I believe Titanium follow your previous setting on CM 5.0.6 where it install back to ext. partition but Froyo not read from external partition.

thanks for the reply....u r rite, maybe titanium is the one causing the problem....
but
if i dont use titatium. how can i backup my apps and restore it on my froyo??
*
I use Astro File Manager install back. Currently Astro File Manager can't backup / restore yet in Froyo, new version that appear few minutes ago also can't do that.

If out source, I do got copy in PC and those from Market ... install back... (those can't find one probably got compatible issue also)

maybe something wrong with the steps.... rclxub.gif
do u all wipe SD ext b4 install??
and wipe to factory reset??
----
any face any problem in froyo??
any apps u all noticed got problem??
signal problem??
android market slow problem??
*
At least you mention which apps got problem.

I wipe all, and I even remove the ext partition since it no longer using it. Having it just waste of space.

Android Market not slow for me, but got some apps not showing up.

Signal is stronger than before.

Some apps that have problem previously already fixed in recent version:
- Handcent
- ChompSMS (I know it fix even I not using it)
- Better Cut
- Titanium Backup
- Pure Messenger Widgets (all pure widgets already updates and support Froyo now)

** Not much I found having issue on Froyo and more and more developer already start and updates it apps compatible with Froyo.

*** Always remember, apps for widgets must install at internal memory.

Hi Andrew,

You have a very nice icon of Android logo. May I know which program you used to change the icon?

I found that 3G connection not so stable. Which setting you use in network type? WCDMA preferred or WCDMA only?

Thanks.
*
You can use below two apps to change icon:
- Better Cut version 2.3 (only latest 2.3 support Froyo)
- FolderOrganizer (This one is good in organizing apps, loving it and able to change folder icon, the Yummy! folder was create using it.)

I never change any setting, where you get the WCDMA preferred or WCDMA only. I believe default shall be preferred as if you set to only then it will lost signal when that area no 3G or weak 3G signal.

No issue for me as well.

It take for me less than 10 seconds to display all. I got around 112 apps in my phone now.

look like something really wrong with mine....not sure what...
u install using paul froyo>???

one question, did u flash yr kernel after install?? which one?
*
I using paul one, before I do using pershoot UV/OC kernel (no issue also that time) but due to video record issue, I flash back to original.

Then I format my sd-card by removing Ext3 and Swap partition via RA-Recovery and I notice it damn slow when generating photos preview at gallery and songs at music, I redo my sd-card with swap partition create. Everything went smooth then.

** I never use any backup program to install back apps.

how u format sd?? not option to format sd in recovery mode...
if format. all data like pic and songs will gone also rite??
*
- Take out your SDcard and put in PC and copy all files inside.
- Plugin backm on the phone to recovery mode, go partitiion SD card and repartition, let it choose default as 32mb for swap.
- When asking for ext. partition, use trackball scroll to 0MB (you no need ext. partition as it is not needed for Froyo.
- Switch of the phone, take out the SDcard and agains put in to PC and copy back all the data.
- Put back the SDcard and on the phone.
- Leave there for a while (maybe 1/2 hours) to let it re-cache. (I believe it done that as clean copy will make it sometimes to let all your photos and songs appear back)

** All pic and song sure gone as format means you clean everything in your card, partition will remove everything as well.

andrew, which kernel do u use since the 2.6.33.4 got video problem??

my phone reboot when i use camrecorder,...
youtube app cant play video.
meridin cant play video also.

i flashed to froyo b4 this..its updated my radio.
now im using CM5.0.7.......
so i believe im using the new radio file version 4.06.00.12.7.

is that the kernel problem or radio problem??
thinking maybe flash back the old radio will solve the video record problem..
*
Pershoot just release new Kernel which is 2.6.34 and report no issue on Video Record (I not tested yet, just back from outside, test it shortly).

But always remember Kernel 2.6.34 got unmount issue and none of 2.6.33.4 fix the video record issue.

Just confirmed. icon_idea.gif

Froyo + new radio + Pershoot 2.6.34 kernel working perfectly:
- Video record working, no reboot issue.
- New WiFi module added by Pershoot lastly working fine.
- No issue on video playback and no issue on Youtube.
- Linpack running over 41fps after OC to 1.13Ghz. (before OC is around 37fps)
