Desire user here but i wanna ask from android sifus here xD. The nexus one have that lock seal image on boot on each device is it? Cuz ive just saw it on the vid snapdragon vs omap vs hummingbird booting.. i saw that there is a padlock on the nexus one. Does every single nexus one have it?  And does the desire have it somewhere(in case anyone here tried)? Thanks in advance
*
Yes, all N1 have them (except for the rare holiday N1). I dont think Desires have them because Desire's bootloaders are not meant to be unlocked by the users. That's why you have that step to check what HBOOT version you have when you want to root a Desire. The version of HBOOT will then determine your next step in rooting (either gold carding or downgrading the HBOOT).

today my phone hang again, repeatedly while i listen to music when i sleep.. What should i do? My internal memory still have like 45mb.. I tried to take out the memory card and run again, it still hangs. I go into leo parts, the move dalvik cache to memory is greyed out, how to activate it? Anyone let me know what should i do.. so frustrated already ><
*
greyed out? You dont have an EXT partition on your SD do you? hmm.gif
Are you using any widgets?

QUOTE(pluginbaby @ Jul 22 2010, 08:42 AM)
thanks for the reply and ur answer  smile.gif . btw, it does mean if we (desire) could flash back to current stock rom (unrooted), we surely could claim our warranty as they cant check either the phone has been rooted or not ait? mind sharing opinions regarding this one?

btw, so envy that nexus one is the 1st phone to be seeing gingerbread vanilla UI which will hopefully PWN all custom UIs. +1 points to nexus one

There's something you need to understand. Warranty is void when you touch the bootloader. Since rooting requires you to unlock your bootloader, many people assume that rooting voids your warranty and unrooting the phone back will make it all OK and HTC wouldnt know a thing. That's not the case. The voiding part happens before the actual rooting when you manhandled your HBOOT in any ways. The bootloader, once unlocked cannot be re-locked. Although Desire users cannot actually see their bootloader status, HTC have their way of knowing. They will run a software integrity check of some sort on the phone your once you send it in for warranty claims. The ways to get around this are 1) to root without unlocking the bootloader which is only possible on the N1 2) Relock the bootloader. There is no way of doing that currently.

Try running the phone without the widgets.
Whenever you change to different ROMs, it's always a good idea to full wipe the phone. Unless you're upgrading a similar ROM which wiping is not required or you only need to do a partial wipe.

You can still get it from Google if you have a developer's account. I wonder if they give out Holiday N1 if you order it as a developer. unsure.gif

1.5K? Get it bro. N1 now is a dev phone succeeding the G1. N1 support doesnt come from Google, it comes from HTC. The only thing that can kill the N1 is when Google halts Android. And that's not gonna happen. As long as Desire is in the Market, you'll always have spare parts for your N1. Heck, you can even use EVO 4G batteries with it. That's just how awesome N1 is.

should i root my n1 with unlock bootloader or with bootloader??since rooting already void my warranty??

Rooting does not void your warranty. Unlocking the bootloader does.

I will be launching my first Android App in my blog below my signature. The program is essentially a very simple program that allows you to customise up to 5 favourite sites to auto-load upon launched of the app. The number of tabs and its URL are customisable (up to 5).

Stay tuned. Here's a screenshot:

My rooted Nexus now keep have annoying update from google , anyone has idea how to shut it auto update off ?
*
OTA update? If you have custom recovery, like Amon RA, just let it update. It will fail and you'll never get the notification again.

Added on July 28, 2010, 7:11 amGot some info to solve this problem but i not sure is it safe and works not.

Someone ask me to install market-enabler.

After installed it i saw a string of value in the program.. do i need to do anything?? Or just leave it?

btw: My N1 is still unrooted with stock FRF91 firmware.

Doesnt Market Enabler need root privilege? hmm.gif
Anyways, you can get Google maps 4.4 here::-
