Sky-rocketing but at the same time many inferior ones are swamping the market i.e. more and more "old" say 60-80's teapots around. Same goes to tea actually. If not careful, might be buying "parang" instead
old teapots will be my choice but i am pretty sure... the price will be more than what i am willing to part with right now... laugh.gif
I need to save more credit for my other hobbies tongue.gif and my retirement saving :/

well, i probably won't go to craftmans pot as I am more of a taster. Unless I start to fill my house with antique picture or stuff will probably get some... I still prefer to have great tea without looking at the teapot biggrin.gif

Wow that's porous!!! If you are using to brew tea, just keep on it and you'll start noticing less sweating overtime. If for boiling water, you can go for few porridge cooking session

Else if you manage to come by a kiln, you can fire it again

Thanks for the advice. I got this teapot from some chinese stuff seller. He mention probably not for tea, but i just buy it hoping to clean it up. Still some minor smell is there... I brew tea... but didn't really drink it... fear of weird smell sweat.gif

Blueye, you should consider passing your teapot thru 2-3X those fake dental wash soaking and cleaning. After that go for few rounds tea cooking and soaking. It might take more sessions to get rid of weird odor completely

I face similar problem with few of my ROC pots, very hectic to get it rite for use. That's why it's sometimes justified when merchants (reputable ones of course) charge extra for usable old teapots
*
ROC pots? I will update once the teapot is usable. Thanks for the input! icon_rolleyes.gif
