quikstep, would you mind sharing, how much does a decent raw puer cost roughly?

I'm still new to puer tea and at our last session, had some... erm... not so great experience with raw puerh. lol, so hope to find sth to set the bar and not make me give up on it. hehe...

We're planning to meet at Tea Li for our next session. I think the point of the whole trip is to set our wallets on fire...lol. there's a Dao Hong Pao there that i rather fancy, so plan to sapu a bit more of it! smile.gif

I bought a 2007 Da Hong Pao lightlu roasted, 2007 Rou Gui traditional style roasting (not 100% sure bout the yr, but should b 2007 frm what i recall) and i also got a 90s Lao Shu Qiao Mu raw puerh.

was quite an eye (or mouth) opening session for me... hehehe... slowly getting to understand puerh tea a bit better now.

ndgoh , i was there with @romeolee, we were there like from 2 something until almost 7pm...hahaha, tried alot of different type of teas and made some new friends. so the answer to ur question is a YES!

Haha, i went to the expo like 3 or 4 times during the week, i believe it's over di.

First time attending... but didn't have much booths to hang out at as i'm more of a yan cha kaki...hehe... but got a couple of decent pots la (i think)

@KittyKat, would be awesome to go check out pots with u one day... wanna learn more and how not to get ripped off...hehe

@quikstep , wah, seasoning pot need 7 days ah? what's ur process like? my current process is to select the tea i wanna use the pot for, brew as per normal, and dump the water into a bowl... empty the pot of leaves and soak it in the tea for one day

I'm sure that wasn't a copy n paste job, it seemed so unprepared and impromptu....lol, good job puregreenteas, very believable... reading ur posts makes me feel like i'm talking to a friend...

anyway, @kittykat, u know any teashops in KL that are more knowledgeable or carry a wide variety of teapots/wares? or have to just visit everywhere to find out? hehe

Ratbert, for now, I scout everywhere for teapots... Depending on what you are in to, Taiwan usually works out fine for me... Locally, very personal I would say... Most merchants are quite knowledgeable to certain extend, must see what you percept and whether you can accept their judgement at end if days... That's why no one merchant will monopolize the market, every buyer has their preferences, IMHO... That's how tea market cycles I guess...
*
Ah ok, hey do u have any contacts or recommendation for tea shops in taiwan? I really feel like going back there to find more tea n teaware... found the first tea that got me started in tea in taiwan... so have a bit of a soft spot for the place smile.gif

This tea is very expensive if you're foreigner. I got one taiwanese friend, who bought it about RM200 for 600g. This price is available for Regular Taiwanese Customer only. Too bad...
*
OMG! RM200 for 600g?!?!? that's a steal!

Tea out out of malaysia is generally cheaper by a lot.

Yeah, but i bought my Dah Yu Ling from Taiwan, still costed more than that. maybe tourist price kut... but either way, still much cheaper than KL. only place i found carrying Dah Yu Ling was Hojo... and they sell it for a bomb... like few times more than tourist price in taiwan

There are leagues Ratbert, and there are difference ones, thus their pricing...

Hehe yeah true. but funny thing was last time when i visited Hojo, i asked about their Dah Yu Ling... and their first question was how did i know about that tea.

After i mentioned that i bought from taiwan... they gave up on trying to promote it to me, saleslady said she know i won't buy from them coz i know the price in taiwan...hehehe... anyway, tried it before, and to me, what they sell is pretty on par with what i got from taiwan! biggrin.gif

Kitty Kat, hope u can recommend me some tea merchants in Taiwan, i do hope to go there again... probably next yr. then will include tea/tea ware hunting in my itinerary... brows.gif

hello all.

have u all been enjoying tea smile.gif ?

been a while since i posted and this is the humble pot i bought during the expo at tropicana mall.

i was somehow attracted to a short and wide pot mainly because i find it difficult to dig out tea leaves in smaller pots.

one lesson i learned is that the spout must be correctly sized. in this case, it could have been larger. the pouring takes me almost 12+ secs to empty 200ml. painful wait.

Veli nais! any info bout the clay or model?

i was at old klang road looking for some hardware when i saw a tea shop (apparently there are 3 in a row). i saw the same tea pot there. i need to id it tonight to make sure it's the same.

apparently, it's zhuni clay by some young budding artist. they are selling for rm 250 and some nice zhisha ones are rm 350. worth checking out. just hope they make it big next time smile.gif

the chinese lady told me hei cha (black tea) is picking up. going to keep some.
*
Wah,after puer kena goreng now they gonna goreng black tea?! blink.gif

Seriously hope they never goreng Yan Cha... if not i really die... icon_question.gif

Hehehe, i haven't reach tht level of spending for tea yet... unfortunately i dun usually drink puerh or liu bao... mainly drink Yancha, so not much reason for me to buy tea in large quantities to keep/invest

wouldn't mind giving it a shot one day though... but since i dun drink those teas that are worth investing in, if tak naik harga, then i just end up with a load of tea for donation lol
