Is it for some sort of phone insurance thingy? It should be standard 2 year warranty with no extra charges. PM me the shop's name and we'll investigate.

SweetPuff,
Great, that's a big help. Been going from one store to another and getting the run around from your promoters. BTW, it would seriously have helped if you guys had put the FAQ on your site rather than in FB becos most of it is the complete opposite of what your promoters claim. I only found it when I came trawling LYN for something else. |

QUOTE(SweetPuff @ Apr 24 2010, 12:24 AM) I was joking Please do check still, am still keen on Legend. Added on April 24, 2010, 6:41 am QUOTE(mikelee @ Apr 24 2010, 01:42 AM) With the lack of Legend stock at most DiGi centre, I am expecting it will be worst for HTC Desire. Maybe we could see a line of people waiting on the first day launch. I am more inclined to believe that the shortage is artificial. That is, DiGi took in only limited quantities of the Legend, not expecting it would sell very well, rather than there being so many geeks wanting to buy this particular model. This post has been edited by Cannonfodder: Apr 24 2010, 06:41 AM |

Yeah, there are several of stores listed in the BUY page that have no idea about this package that they're supposedly a part of.
All the ones I went to (on the list) gave me the "What is this guy babbling about?" look |

Finally got my Digi Legend. After hunting high and low, going to almost ten outlets, I found one at the DSS in Sunway (last unit there, no idea if and when they will have more).
Digi, you rock for offering this Smart Plan + Phone package, but damn you for making it so hard to find it!!! |

Maxis website for Android looks like a very sloppy cut/paste job from some other telco' website, so I wouldn't take what is shown there to be 100% accurate.
For instance, they're offering the Motorola Droid instead of the Milestone, and if it really is the Droid, I expect there will be a lot of pissed-off Maxis customers wondering why their CDMA phones aren't working here in Malaysia. |

I feel your pain, man. DiGi's promoters make a mockery of the company's tag-line: always the smarter choice. |

Smart Plan is RM68/mth, so total cost of Internet access only is RM1,632 and not RM1,392
But it doesn't change the fact that it's still a great deal, and I'm glad this came when it did as I was about to sign up for the RM58 Internet Unlimited package. So for an extra RM10/mth, I'm getting RM1,000 off the retail price of a just-launched smartphone (and actual retail price as opposed to vastly inflated prices). Lock in is no issue, I've been a Digi customer since 2004. And I doubt that anyone will be able to discontinue mobile internet once they've experienced Internet in their pockets |

QUOTE(raist86 @ May 4 2010, 08:42 AM) can the digi smartplan be used with other smartphones? cos i have a google nexus one coming on the way from US... Yes, you can use the plan with any Internet-capable phone. Just subscribe without contract or get the voice+internet unlimited packages.Nexus one and legend.. which one is a better purchase? Nexus versus Legend, depends on you and your intended usage. If you're a power user or like to hack your phone, Nexus. If you don't see yourself doing that, the Legend is more than enough. Hope this helps! |

Too true, in the almost ten DSS I went to, not one single promoter offered the Smart Plan to me. All pushing "iPorn" <--ROFL
All were holding iPorn brochures AND iPorn sample unit. Promoters at a roadshow in Sunway Pyramid wouldn't even show me the Legend. Hell, they wouldn't even show me the BOX the Legend comes in. If Android fails for Digi, I blame the promoters! |

Yup, crazy stupid prices for the iPhone.
And I think iPorn easier to shift also. Aunty, unker, ah pek, ah moi, ah beng, kor kor, yee mar, kooh cheh -- the whole world all oso wan iPorn. Only certified geekazoids want Android, and CrackBerry users mostly on Celcom/Maxis oredi. |

Two hours? Wow, that's long. Plus waiting time or just signing up?
I signed up at Sunway and took 1.5 hours, cos the guy serving me was not very sure and easily distracted. I would have thought DC would be much quicker. Anyway, I'm sure the new toy will have already erased any frustrations over your wait |
