Hi buddies would like to seek for some advice in choosing speaker for MBP 13"..
I'm looking at brand JBL/BOSE... Any JBL/BOSE user here?
*Preferably compatible with iPhone/iPod smile.gif  smile.gif

Cheers  cool.gif

I'd stay away from the companion series (bose) if i were you. JBL duet, i dont know much abt it. Why not consider other brands, if you are spending that much for speakers. Are you looking for compact or something stationary?

All the while I thought is worth paying for Bose... I've tried with their speakers I think quite good though.. Any other brand??
How about JBL??  Looking for a new speaker...
Thanks  smile.gif

Whats your budget? Ever considered nearfield studio monitors? M-audio Studiophile or the Behringer MS40? .

Just briefly read some reviews for both of these speakers, not bad...  smile.gif
Where can I get to test out the sound quality? Price?  biggrin.gif
*
Not to sure on where to get nearfield studio monitors in Malaysia. Check out the buy/sell section. Prices range about 600-800 I think. I got my ms40s in Australia for 235AUD, so it ranges around there. Audio stuffs in KL abit exp i think. Headphones, can go to Jaben, speakers i dunno.

Are you using your pair for deskstop?
I'm will be using for my MBP/iPhone... I don't think it can bring out the full performance of the speakers...
*
Nope i use it with my MBW. MBP also got digital output. so you can get a pair of toslink -> 3.5 mm jack if you get the behringer ms40 cuz it has multiple outputs, digital, analog etc. LOL, to get better sound from your iphone you probably need to get an amp but if you have the behringer, it has a built in amp, so yeah, there is a very high chance of having a better audio output. I'm not a fanboi of studio monitors, i just like clarity and somehow mainstream speakers like logitech, bose, harman kardon, doesnt really appeal to me. Bare in mind, that im not a basshead so it explains my choice of not having a speaker with woofers, but if you are just a layman sound fella, there is adequate bass on the ms40's, if you want, get a subwoofer in the future and plug it in.

I see.. Yeap my choice is more towards harder bass, that's why I'm asking about JBL, Bose and harman....
I think I've seen some speakers which comes with iPhone/Aux features... smile.gif

Maybe you could try to ask in detail in the audophile section? Im sure there are tons of experts in audio there..

For me, the stock speakers are good enough =)... Next time will get a home theater system for my TV better =)

Is that why apple is going with HTML 5 or smthn...? When you have all the good stuffs with apple, suddenly flash becomes the combo breaker. lol

promedia 2.1 GMX? damn good, but quite hard to find lately. but then i didnt look too hard either

2.1 Gmx is the ugliest looking speaker but performance wise, not too bad at all. I used to have a z2300, didnt like the bass. no mids at all...even when i turn the bass to minimum, still got.lol. and bare in mind that the control pod is not for sale, not even from logitech.

In windows, we can terminate a 'hanged' application by accessing the task manager via ctrl+ALT+DEL or ALT+F4  .... how do you do that in MBP?

I installed Windows Live Messenger for Mac and it 'hanged' !!

take out your mac osx disc from your disc docket, boot up with that and try to see if there is any harddisk mounted on your mac through disk utility
*
What do you mean by hard disk mounted on my mac? Well I do have a WD desktop ext HDD for my time machine always attached to my MBW.

Hey guys,

Ive been using the headphone jack to connect to my speakers and today its not working anymore. There isn;t any sound output. Ive already checked all the settings. The internal speaker works though. Is this the beginning of my MBW deterioration ? lol
