My HP died... and am in a dilemma to get a Dell or Mac for replacement...

Mainly for personal use, just normal surfing, chatting, blogging, MS Office, and Programming in SQL and .NET probably...

Am very tempted to get the MBP... but I've some queries, hoping anyone here to shed some light on... Thanks in advance..

i) I have external hdd in NTFS format, well, typical Windows, so, can Mac OS reads from and writes into the hdd? If not, can the Windows inside the bootcamp reads from and writes into the hdd?

ii) How long a MBP can usually last a typical, careful and considerate user? Not bringing around that much...

iii) Can files be transferred between the MAC OS and the bootcamp Windows?

I'm very tempted to get the Mac but I'm worried about the incompatibility issues with lots of things...
please help..

jus wan to enquire..

if i am going to install win7 onto the mbp 13"...
currently spec at 250gb.. should i actually increase the hdd to 320gb?
considering saving the hassle of future upgrades?

usage: normal surfing, chatting, office, blogging, and .net env programming w sql server (plan to do this in the bootcamp).. jus wana know how much space i should allocate for the windows..
