i'm a totally mac newbie but i'm planning to get a macbook pro asap. aiming for the 13" one. is it ok if i buy from forumers in lowyat? how to check whether it's original or not? can i send back to shops like machine/mac city to repair if it happens to have any problem?

oh, i found the apple online store already. is it cheaper to order from there? sorry for asking newbie questions. icon_question.gif

and if i get a macbook and i want to link it to my desktop monitor, must i get extra cables? is the cables to connect included in the box? i'm using a samsung monitor.

and seems like they don't have speakers/headphone for macbook. can i use ipod headphone to link to my macbook?

okay. thanks guys. comfirmed getting the mbp. if i want to download programs for my mac, do i need to pay to download? and i heard mac is good for designing purposes. why is it so?

It depends on what you want on your laptop. For me I bought VMware myself and Microsoft office media expression (got it free from MS). Rest all downloaded from website as in freeware. That would be for normal casual users. Alot of mac website have freeware programs that would satisfy the hunger for normal user. Plus some programs can be easily ported to mac minus the interface if you are familiar with *nix.

Think as normal casual user where you got skype, msn, ym, torrent, qq, vlc etc and you can have it all on mac for free same like windows counterpart.

If you are photo video editing enthusiast then I guess you need alot more programs for mac and thus for those you will need to buy it in CD or via e-delivery.

For mac there's no official central repository as in iPhone/iPad

hey thanks guys. any recommended programs/games? brows.gif . i've checked that my monitor is using VGA adaptor but i see the pictures in applestore its different from my monitor one. i mean they are terbalik.

oh okay, hmm im into arts subject so any programs for arts and designing purposes? like graphic/interior designing.

@dvlzplayground: yaaa. my monitor got holes instead of pins. exactly same ammount of holes.
