Apple suggest you use the battery at least once a weeks. Don't use till finish, use around 50% to make the ion move. Then every 1 or 2 months calibrate the battery. Calibrate steps,1 - Use until the battery drain - until laptop shutoff itself.
2 - Leave the laptop around 5-6 hours.
3 - Recharge the battery until full.
Forget where I found this but it's from apple itself.
