You can have a good debate on who is more technically advance (winner is sony btw), but it all comes down to the games and fun factor. and the wii motion plus is pretty fun. is the MOVE funner?

My opinion so far is - not really.

I'm not really and depending on the software support. Since The Wii is already a staple with the remote as its main controller, I don't see Move replacing the normal controller, which would spark outrage.

Sony's Eye Toy doesn't see very popular.

as always...i let the software determine that for me.

if the games are translated good enough to the hardware...i dun care

I just wish they could get rid of those 6-axis control once Move is out, make a clear cut on which control scheme should be used instead of the combination of classic + motion sensor.

Bleh..I prefer the PS3 controller now..lol!~

Move vs Wii still too soon to judge, but i'm sure peeass fanboi will burn this thread down....

the boat for motion sensors controller have sailed long time ago , and judging by wii position in the console war this gen in terms of sale. wii wins sony and even microsoft by quite a margin.
and by playing catch up , sony and microsoft acknowledges nintendo have won the war.

You better play with your D pad + Start/Select + AB buttons + TURBO AB buttons

Sega Saturn has the best controller of all..nuff said!! nothing is comfortable as a sega saturn controller.

ya....but there is also a accessory for NES, not sure what is call but you can play a game with your bare hand with just a foldable thingy..

i can imagine some kick ass games that u can't implement on wii. but haven't seen those yet. the fighting game looks good on surface but i haven't played it yet. if there is lot of depth in it i will like it. but it looks like no depth, hope i am wrong.

I actually wanted to express my opinion on the move vs wii thing but glad that his thread was open.

Here my 2cent

For me, I own a wii but sold it after maybe 1/2 a year. I was particularly disappointed with the games/softwares that the wii should have but didn't. With this, i am happy to hear that ps3 are coming out with the ps3 move.

First of all, one of the most fundamental criteria to play a motion control games is the game or software itself. Is not about just waggle to get the effect you want, is about accuracy, the concept which actually work and how its being manipulated to all stage of audience/players.

For example, zelda TP been a great game but i dont see how important the wiimote is to that game? I dont even like the control of it. RE4 with the wiimote staple the control perfectly, wishing for more of this game to come into wii, but nope, not a single one.

So far, i am seeing sony to hook on some of the workable games with their ps3 move. I hope this time around, it work for them, not like wii which cover mostly the casual audience.

Some of the game which i think work great with motion control (Wii or move) is:

FPS: If done right with precise aiming, this could topple the classic control of mouse and keyboard and become one of the most important aspect in FPS controlling on the console.

TPS: Same as above and been proven to work, since RE4 happen to execute the same concept, which most ppl like and adore. Nice work on the socom game sony

Strategy game: Still this might not be able to replace the much better mouse and keyboard control, but it would be a good replacement for the usual gamepad.

RPG (isoview): Been dreaming for this for years now, sacred2 nail it nice but still lacking in sense of control, mostly on aiming problem, but with move, it would be a fine concept to finally revive an isoview rpg in hd! What do you guys think of DOTA on ps3 with the move control with free online play?

Sportgame: Well Wii been offering this for almost all of their games, from trashware to wii first party games. SOme or good, some are bad and broken. But one thing for sure, none of them are as realistic as what the ps3 move had shown in their demo, the kickboxing game and the table tennis. If ps3 move go full force to create more realistic sport games together with those cartoonish one (mainly what the wii been doing), this will not only cover the mature group of gamer but also the casual audience.

Puzzle game: Any type of puzzle short game can come from psn and adapt with the ps3 move, especially involving point and click type.

QTE type game: Well, now you can actually do more with game like Heavy Rain or penumbra, rendering you to be more immerse into the story and game!

PS3 move or motion control will not work on this game:

RPG: By rpg mean some of those which required waggling to move your weapon (yeah, pointing at you zelda), or waggle again to cast a spell in either tps or fps. I mean, rpg is long, and is tiring to waggle non stop. They are best stick with the gamepad. But games like okami might work as it required drawing...

Driving simulator: A big nono, as fun as mario kart could be, i can have the equal fun even with just a game pad. Driving game should belong to the actually sterling/wheel or just the gamepad

Those are all just my personal opinion, not fact so no flaming thank

IMO, i dont want to swing my arms around for more than 10 minutes. Just makes playing games more stressful than the ds3. Most ppl I've seen who play using Wiimote is STANDING up

Well.. im saying that coz my ps3 screen is at the foot of my bed. It'd be bloody awkward to play with MOVE in a lying position.

don't forget dancing games. I think move can add lot of percision to it. the wii has the lousiest dancing games and yet the games are blockbusters. wth.

and casual games that involve, drawing, sketching or writting. i think the MOVE shines on this. coz the wii is clumsy on this, as u need to "shoot" at the screen while drawing. its a bit cumbersome and unatural.

for some people, they like to move a lot when they play games. for me i have my moments. when i feel like i want to play games that make me sweat, i reach for my wii, when i want to play games that me keep still, i reach for my ps3 (and also the wii).

i also wonder how durable sony's light ball is. on d wii, i hit the wii so often that if i don't have the jacket on the wiimote would have broke a long time ago.

and serious driving games should not be MOVE. but arcade games like mario kart is ok. can't imagine my family enjoying mariokart on a G27 logitech sterring wheel, hehe. was laughing to myself just trying to imagine.

If i want to sweat, I'd go out and play real sports or join a gym where the chicks are

i like to sweat that way too. there r various ways to sweat.

Contradictory, i play the wii (or move in future) where the chick will flock around...
Save money going out or go gym, all chicks invited to my house lol

Don't tell me you don't know that Wiimote has vibrator as well?

Reminds me: PS Move also needs a PS3 Eye or Eyetoy. Which means added cost if you haven't already bought one.

In any case, I own both a Wii and PS3. It'll be interesting to see what Sony has in store for the Move since I'm already quite comfortable with the nunchuk-wiimote layout.

Sounds like it'd be awesome for the first 5 minutes tho.

Well, as I said before, if you buy a Move, you'll also need to buy a PS3 Eye since Move must primarily be used with the Eye. Assuming you buy a Move with a game and you have never ever thought or cared of buying a PS3 Eye beforehand, you'll need to end up buying a game that ships with a PS3 Eye as well, because the last time I went out looking for a PS3 Eye, I ended up buying the EyePets package because they only sell PS3 Eye bundled with EyePets in Malaysia (or so I was told by the salesman in the Times Square Sony Style). So you also end up with a game that you may not want and pay up to twice as much. Unless the Move also comes with a package that comes with a free PS3 Eye as well, along with a game, which I reckon will not cost less than RM400.

For Wiimote, it comes with the Wii out of the box.

So yeah.

Btw, out of boredom I've actually tried pairing my Wiimote with the PS3. Doesn't do much apart from making the 4 leds flash non-stop

will already won the battle of motion controllers. if the 'move' can be better , smoother and faster than the wii controller maybe it can pwn the wii controller ;X

I dun really like wii in the first place.. the dashboard design is not really my taste so is the controller design... well, its nintendo that i dun really like to be exact.. duno y la... not appealing... But, truth is... I dun think will support any of it.. Natal, ps move or the old nintendo wii.. For kids maybe la.. they love moving around.. I am way too old to move in front of.. what.. TV....? Lol.. I paiseh...Feel stupid.. XD... And I feel perfectly comfortable with my gamepad...

But hope PS will win.. for the family type... If their games are not as generic as most wii games.. and lower their price oso.. If not ... still wii though.. parents love the price and kids have no comment as long as they can play..

Well, Nintendo still has advantage price-wise and they do have their target market. No doubt that PS3 is a good console, but for family and old people where eye candy doesn't matter but simplicity of gameplay and cost of ownership does, the Wii still wins.

For me tho:
Wii: Simple games to unwind after hard day of work
PS3: When you are bored and really want adrenalin rush
