Well the time I was using Yonex RX-37, I was playing very well with it, the ONLY reason why I left Yonex was the exorbitant frigging high price,I was a student then,my parents gave me a small allowance, which I took and saved for friggin months, close to a whole year before I got my first Yonex RX-37, if I am not mistaken it was black/gold/had some blue on it and was made up of boron ( not 100% boron but I think a certain percentage)
The only bad thing I can say about Yonex rackets are there are a bit 'brittle'. They were easy to swing, solid, SOLID, crisp...ahhhh.
Being brittle hmmmm how do I phrase this, this racket was like glass or marble, if you chipped it on low backhands or half volleys, there was a high chance a good size chunk would chip off, imagine that.....you know how you can chip glass, a nice piece comes off, same with this racket :-/
If chipped too much, the characteristics of the racket 'changed' in subtle ways, but I could tell, then thats when I retired one Yonex at a time....sad to say ,VERY SAD to say, someone threw my rackets away...........
If I ever come across that racket for damn friggin sure, I will buy it and play with it just to see if I can get the same feeling as before, I will retire it, placing it on the wall.
As for my infatuation with Wilson Pro Staff this was the racket I used when a friend of mine lent me this particular racket for volleys, it just was very good, crisp for volleys, though at the time, I think I could play quite decent with it, no way on par with the Yonex, (btw if I am not mistaken the Yonex racket was like SGD380-420 in the early 80's). I slowly adapted to it, and the price of the racket was much cheaper (SGD200-250), at the most. Hahah I still remember the shop owner trying to kipas me, to buy the Prince Boron (this mofo was at least SGD900-1200) at the time......I didn't even bother to look at the racket....sial, I would have to have sold my kidney or left testicle to get that stick....
I will say, rackets characteristics will change WHEN you play better or improve your technique, thats a promise ;-p example say your're a 2.0 now, when you reach a decent 3.5 to a strong 4.0 use the crappy racket you hated when you were a 2.0, you be surprised how much you like it

Cheers!
