QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 19 2019, 11:54 AM) i was actually hoping for the tip2 to inherit the UI as on the tup...but guess some things were never meant to be never say never. perhaps a tip2+? yeah, the clip is probably meant to be attached to the cap only. but even then i'd be wary...

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 20 2019, 11:01 AM) i just think its a bad clip. cos what if u knock the light attached to the cap...or worse a belt...say bye bye to the light i agree. very impractical this clip. i'd be careful with the magnetic tailcap too. you may need some effort to remove the light from its tailcap, but if it gets snagged to say a branch or something, you can pretty much kiss ur tip2

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 22 2019, 07:03 AM) i avoid magnetic stuff on keychains... i read that the tail cap doesn't isolate the magnet enough, so the keys still stick to it... which also means any 10c coins... yups, correct again. and i guess over time, the friction is gonna give your light some pretty neat 'battle scars'

QUOTE(Everdying @ Jul 22 2019, 10:15 AM) all my lights have battle scars... some can see to the bare aluminium. also another reason for me to be anti-magnetic tailcap is cos i also keep magnetic access cards in the same pocket. what, you're still on magnetic strips???

QUOTE(RookieDaddy @ Aug 25 2019, 10:43 AM) Olight sent some of their models for review and testing... this is one of them... so far, this Seeker2 has checked a few positive points for me compare to Seeker2Pro. the one big box it ticked for me is... price the runtimes are pretty impressive also perhaps olight should release the seeker2pro without the mounting gimmick to reduce the price (probably not by much, but still a saving nonetheless)? QUOTE(RookieDaddy @ Aug 28 2019, 03:09 PM) in my not so humble opinion, seeker 2 is a better model than seeker 2 pro.

that's his only olight. he didnt mention what other lights he brought with him the s1 is a handy edc and for the most part, serves one well generally. its core strength is its portability simply because of its size. it's a good light to have for short walks and such but yeah, not particular high on stamina. pretty much my urban travel companion, this. i've had my manker u12 along for my jungle treks and it has served me well. it has sufficient juice and doesn't take up too much space/weight. but this seeker2 ... it's really something else, innit. quite the looker... and that runtime. not quite something i need... but definitely something i want

QUOTE(Justin.Loong @ Sep 4 2019, 02:36 PM) It's using a propriety 21700 "customized" battery so I'll skip. I'm using 18650, 16340 and 14500 (and Eneloops / Fujitsu / IKEA Ladda) at the moment so I'm not keen to buy another type of battery. customised to enable charging via its proprietary charger, perhaps? it's interesting that other manus are even considering the 21700 seeing as to how that has been pretty much manker's u12's achilles heel in the past. i hardly had a need to swap batteries before so personally, that's not a concern for me... at least not yet

QUOTE(huislaw @ Sep 4 2019, 08:57 PM) Power and runtime are enough. I used second level brightness most of the time. Only activated turbo when checking the cave's ceiling. When I activated the turbo, everyone was like wahhhhh....such power from a small flashlight. And yes, I brought Nitecore TiNi as my backup light God’s Flashlight in the cave. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « yeah, the tech is pretty amazing considering its thumbsize dimensions. sometimes people don't even realize that you've got anything in your hands... until lumos maxima! the entire area lights up by the way, do you guys have any issue with the protective cover of the tini getting in the way of charging? i've ripped off the cover to facilitate charging. as the cover goes back on pretty snugly, i doubt that it would affect the ip, would it? just need to be careful not to misplace the cover

wah... this thread not only light poison, but travel poison also anyway, i wouldn't be too concerned about the tini surviving the splash as much as i would about the spray affecting the olympus om-d e-m5 II lens (it may be splashproof, but that fine salt can still create havoc)

didn't see these at gadgetworld the last time i went there, and it's not in their webstore either. i get my lights locally so no customs issues there.

jack of all trades, master of none. totally understand where you are coming from. personally been considering the fenix fd45 for the longest time. not something that i'd recommend you since it exceeds your weight and price requirements (nor the dimensions, i'm sure). but no, i didn't get that. gotto think long and hard which light to pack nowadays. the flood wins most of the time (pretty much a toss between olight s1r baton turbo s and manker u12), but i do occasionally bring the thrunite catapult v6 along during my treks.

QUOTE(huislaw @ Oct 29 2019, 09:12 AM) yeah... lots of variables to consider. primarily size, stamina, beam pattern and colour. the olight i1r eos is pretty much my edc and one that i have on me at any given time. not too concerned about the runtime as it would get me to one of my other lights should the need arise. my trusty u12 follows me on my treks (usually paired a keychain light) whilst my traveling edc would be the olight s1r turbo s.
