the TIKI is quite a dissapointment...but its cheap so nevermind tongue.gif

Although some online reviewers complained that the TIKI looks and functions similar to the RovyVon (and also has the previous PWM issues found on the earlier RovyVon), I don't mind due to the price point. icon_rolleyes.gif biggrin.gif

lower impedance meaning lower resistance thus faster charging as it allows more current to flow... if you are referring to the 2A testing, Gold Aukey cable reads 124 mΩ while the normal Aukey cable reads 144 mΩ, so the Gold plated cable is slightly better than the normal Aukey cable.

k here's my take on the TINI vs TIKI.

TINI.
likes -
- better mode spacing - 1 - 38 - 145 - 380, so usually 145L is what I would use more often when outside.
- has a battery indicator.
- dual buttons, so you can have primary mode say at 38L and toggle back and forth with the 380L turbo by pressing the 2nd button... without having to cycle thru all the modes.

dislikes -
- no direct access to low.
- heats up quite fast at turbo 380L.
- no constant ON at 380L.

so basically for the TIKI, it is quite the reversed.
likes -
- direct access to low.
- cannot feel the heat at 300L due to the plastic body.
- constant on at 300L, but will throttle down after 1min.

dislikes -
- don't like the mode spacing of 1 - 15 - 60 - 300...i tend to find the 60L abit lacking so usually go to 300L which is a bit too much sometimes.
- no battery indicator.
- rubber button, would much prefer the plastic buttons as on the TINI.

the red/blue indicator meanwhile is decent from 5m away... anything further than 10-15m it looks like someone left their remote controlled toy lying around...

anyway, main reason I got the TIKI is to replace my olight i3e on my car keychain...making the whole package lighter by 10gms...which doesn't sound like alot but its noticeable especially going from 65gm to 55gm.
the TINI meanwhile would still be my primary keychain light on my house keys...
*
Just to add about TINI's Dislike. Buttons are easily activated while in pocket / pouch / bag compartment. Same like the TUP. sad.gif
Yes, yes, I know there's lock-out (and Demo) mode but perhaps Nitecore could have made the buttons less prone to accidental activation.

For TINI's Dislike, +1 for the no battery indicator.
Nitecore could have done a a simple flashing 3 dots indicator like the TIP2 and TIP2017.

i think u confused urself with the TIKI there tongue.gif

but ya, that's another one...accidental activation of the TINI...it sometimes happens in my pocket too...tho not too often.
there's actually no lock-out mode on TINI...just the demo mode.

hmm, here's another thing about the TINI that in hindsight makes no sense...
the head is actually chrome coated plastic while body is aluminium...
the TIKI meanwhile is reversed... a metal alloy head with plastic body...

so for my TINI... its been abused by my keys until the chrome coating has worn off... so now i get alot of light bleed from the side of the head...

Hi guys, I want to start getting into 26650 lights. Have my eyes on a D4sv2, amongst others  lust.gif

Is there any reputable local stores (online or offline) that sell good high drain 26650s?

Anyone have any experience buying 26650s from overseas? (if it comes to that...) will it be any issues with local customs?

Sofirn is currently offering the most bangs for bucks, as their lights are priced cheaper compared to Nitecore, Fenix, Olight, etc
Sofirn also have their own online stores at Lazada and Shoppee, so you no longer have to shop online at Ali 'Not' Express, Banggood, etc.
Other brands that are offering similar bangs for bucks include Convoy, Astrolux and Lumintop.

For AA light, hard to beat Lumintop Tool

hmm...i havent really tested how long down to the minute...
but its definitely nowhere near seiko lume etc...thats why my tritium glowring is still on the keys.
nitecore SE is ok, but they really need to stop using that UI of demo / daily mode with no real lock-out.
at least if they recessed the buttons would help abit with accidental activation...

any recommendation for model using AA battery?

QUOTE(darosk @ Nov 18 2020, 04:59 PM)
If it’s me I’d just go for Lumintop Tool AA 2.0 in Nichia LED – that would be my choice. Price should be around about RM100 give or take, last time I saw them. A lot cheaper if you buy from overseas. Good balanced beam for EDC uses, straightforward UI. Tailstanding with detachable diffuser cap. Looks nice, very lightweight. IPX8 – good waterproofing. Can take 14500 cell if you want more burst of power (almost 700 lumen). Unfortunately as I look around online most shops seem to be out of stock for this model.

Olight i5t is a popular choice if you don’t mind the cooler white light, which many don’t mind – but I prefer neutral or warmer coloured light myself. It’s a bit more expensive than the lumintop. Price is about RM120-140 around there. Olight has their own unique design aesthetic.

For more budget minded you can go for Thrunite. Dependable brand for the price. Recommended model is T10 II – good built and firefly mode (low lumen setting). RM85 I saw on Gadgetworld2u. They also got a bit higher-end model called Archer 1A 3.0 – I didn’t try it myself yet but got good reviews.

I haven’t owned the Thrunites but they get good reviews.

If you want save more budget can try buying from AliExp – use their official stores. In general the prices may be cheaper, but it’s not always the case. Sometimes I found that local shop prices is almost exactly the same as buying from the AE China-based store prices.

At least the rubber cover is a better solution than the Nitecore TIP which uses the plastic clip as a physical barrier.

Should be plenty enough for home use. Though I would rather get a Sofirn SP33 for that price. Much better build with proper LED

If you insist on getting that then here are my thoughts.
-Zoomie head also means it is not waterproof so just beware in case you accidentally drop in some water if you decided to take it outdoors.
-Built-in rechargeable may incur risks since you are charging a highly reactive battery in a sealed aluminium bottle. Highly suggest getting an external charger like an XTAR SC1 just for safety reasons
-Aliexpress is a pain to wait. You might need to wait up to a month or two just for a single light. Might as well find something from local say Lazada or Shopee where shipping is faster even when seller is in China
