QUOTE(Ryan94 @ Sep 26 2010, 07:45 PM) If your planning on going to the USA wouldn't it be better for you to just go sit for SAT and then apply to a US University or if you prefer to spend some time here in Malaysia enrolling in an American Degree Transfer Programme would be better than enrolling in CPU ^^"This post has been edited by Hikari0307: Sep 26 2010, 08:50 PM |

No you do not need to enroll in both programmes. If you are planning to go to America it would be better to do ADP instead of CPU. Unless you want to go directly in which case you can apply using your SPM and you would have to sit for SAT as well. An American Degree Transfer Program is basically an American Degree Program which you can enroll in after SPM without the need to go through any Pre-u Programme(CPU,CAL,SAM,IBDP etc) like a UK and Aussie etc Degree programmes. The way it works is you spend about 2 years of a 4 year american bachelor degree here in Malaysia and then you apply to transfer your credits that you have accumulated here to an American University or if you wish certain Canadian and Australian Universities. This is of course up to the Unis to accept you if you meet their minimum entry requirement. Some Universities/Colleges that offers this kind of programme are Taylor's,INTI,Sunway,SEGi and HELP among others. As an example would be this one by Taylor's http://www.taylors.edu.my/courses/adp/adp_landing.php?id=102 |

Most people have no problem getting accepted but accepted into what University depends on a few factors like your results etc. and how many of your credit hours that gets transferred is up to the University, to avoid most of it not getting transferred it's best you have in mind where you want to go to and discuss with an ADP course counselors. It's mostly done as a 2+2 which means 2 years in MY and 2 years in US. Though if your aim is some Ivy League level University then this is not a very good choice as the rate of success of transferring to one is very very very very very low and most credits won't transfer and any way it's not easy to get into one no matter what way just being above average will just be pushed aside like that most people who apply to Ivy League level unis are people who are way above average not just in studies but everything else. Anyway are you currently form 5 or something? |

If your not those very top universities then pretty much I'd say ADP is a good choice for you. It's pretty much the way to go if you want to go study in the US unless you want to go straight as a Freshman in the US in which case going through their website will give you a good idea on how to apply. If you intent to spend some time here in Malaysia first then go for ADP. There is no need to go through programmes like CPU,A-Levels,SAM etc. You can always check in institutions websites which Universities accept their ADP programme for transfers as most of them publish it on their website. If you were to go directly to the Colleges and meet their counselors you might be able to get a good idea on how many of their students have been accepted in your targeted institutions. You can view the list like in this websites. http://www.taylors.edu.my/courses/adp/adp_landing.php?id=105 You can check other colleges like INTI,Sunway,HELP,SEGi etc for more =D |

Graduating is not a problem as long as you have completed all the prescribed exercises. On your career, can't say. The economy is tanking and you will need an employment visa to work in the US if you are not American. |

Transferring and all no problem, like I said before most Malaysians go to study in the US through this pathway. If your coming back to work here in Malaysia there's no problem but if you intend to work in the US then I have no idea as I'm not very familiar with their laws and all. |

Now for the last one, I'm not really sure on the price difference between the two you would have to email them respectively for that and well from my point of view there's no difference in where you do the programme but I heard a lot of people like to go to INTI for this programme.Added on September 27, 2010, 8:40 pmI am Saif Ahmed, I am from Bangladesh and living in Saudi Arabia.
