If you want a credit card just for purchasing Steam games I'd recommend you get a debit card card instead. Credit cards have a RM50 annual fee, whereas debit cards are only RM24 I think.

Unwillingly used once , to purchase something. I did not notice , i use adblock to block off the ads. So far no problem , if you're really paranoid then you should use a secure line or something. I did not realize , so far no any side effects. Anyway if the payments sites are HTTPS , there is no way for them to know whats the data inside , its encrypted nevertheless

Can't connect to steam ? Cant update - get hotspot VPN . Our malaysian servers are overcrowded , so basically the downloads are so slow. The only way you can get faster update speeds is by fooling the system that you're in the US , so that when you connect to steam it will download from a US server which is 15-20x faster then downloading from our local server

I downloaded L4D2 and HL1 pretty fast for my 1mbps line. It occasionally dropped to 60kbps but on average it was mostly over 100kbps. If I can download at that speed I dont think there's any reason why Steam wont allow us to update the client... which is what... 10 or 20MB only?

It's not that easy to learn, compared to TF2. Prepare to get pawned a lot online before becoming good.
