It happens when my internet is slow. Or when Steam is extra busy for some reason.
Basically let's just say Steam doesn't handle stress very well. Tend to breakdown and suicide.

Try submitting a ticket with steam support or looking through the steam powered forums.

The other worth it game on the pack would be Empire Total War. Depending on how much you like RTSes you might like or hate it.

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ May 22 2010, 09:09 AM) Thats what you get in Aus Steam store. Almost every game here is at least 5 to 20USD more. Ozzie prices are a b****. Considering they're almost the same as USD nowadays it's pretty much a rip.

Just remember to read the fine print. Some games I have, like the Orange Box and L4D1. Can't be played outside of SEA region.

Yeap. Just make sure you don't have your important purchases as retail. My TF2 is fine though, and I should be able to survive for an indefinitely long time with just that alone.

Torrz: Luckily for me, my TF2 is steam version. The retail version of Orange Box was due to a competition in Cyberfusion. Wahahaha. My Half Life 2 is also steam due to it being a gift. So in actual fact, only Portal, Half Life Epi 1 and 2, as well as L4D1 would be the only games I can't play overseas.

I'm using Singapore/Japan as my region. For my XboxLive I had to put it on Singapore to use their Marketplace. While my MSN is Japan region and that account is associated with my GFWL.

It's not steam. It's Games for Windows Live. It's an additional service you'd have to sign up for.
Region shouldn't be a problem. What do you mean by "Code"?

You can still play online, what does it say when you sign in to Games For Windows Live?

Calm down first. XD Alrights, here's what you need to do. Go to http://home.live.com/Sign in with your Windows Live account. Top right where the mini avatar icon is. Click on the scroll down list. Look for VIEW ACCOUNT. Right under your information. Click REGISTERED INFORMATION Voila, you have reached the page where you can change your Windows Live account region. I'm not entirely sure if this will unblock your account, but it's worth a try!

Erm, look at my steps? I can change my Windows Live region, which is linked to both my Xbox Live and GFWL region. Freely to whatever region I so choose.
I don't know how they handle XboxLive/GFWL, but if no one tried it, how we'd know?
Edit: Also, if region change is not allowed. Then I move out of my region = No more games for me? M$oft likes money, but I don't think for a second that they're stupid.

Last I remember, CDKey authentication is still done on the developers' end. Recall Trogdor1oh1's experience with GFWL. Same Gears of War 1 key, multiple games including Fallout 3 and SFIV.
As long as you don't go online with 2 copies of the game with the same CDKeys, I don't think you'll have trouble.

No I don't see it, if you managed to fix it. Then there's a way for him to fix it too. The problem now is to solve his problem, not to address your personal hate for GFWL.
Added on May 25, 2010, 1:26 amHere's another thing Mr.Tiger can try. Make a new GFWL account with the region set correctly, put in the same key. Who knows if this is a SSA or Non SSA key, might as well try and see if it says if the CD Key is in use.

Glad you managed to key in your key again. Hope you can play Dirt 2 online soon. Cool. Knew that M$oft couldn't be possible involved in regionlocks. As it has always been the developers' responsibility to code those in.

When you buy Orange Box, the only gift copy you'll receive is Half Life 2. All other duplicates will not be put into your account. It's stated on their FAQ page.

There are very few games you can just activate on Steam with full steamworks capabilities via a bought key.
