In the past I have tolerated with ppl comparing BC2 with MW2 because I didn't know how BC2 would look like. However, having played BC2 recently, I can say that ironically its easier to get into games on MW2 than BC2.
Reason? Unless you already know what are the dedicated servers(like MBT) already at present, you would literally spend minutes trying to browse/ get into a server just to play. Fine I say, and then you will find that most servers you got into are laggy. Dedi servers? No problem but you will indefinitely grow sick of being killed by the same chap over and over again. And then when you try to browse for any other server, you just cant seem to get them and you would most likely be back at the same dedi server again.
No matter how long it takes to find servers, it's definitely better than getting host migration in the middle of the game or 2-3 hackers in each game where they totally ruin the game. Or worse, stuck with a bad host after migration or you couldnt migrate and get kick out. Host migration spoils the pacing. There is something called favourites,if you like this server, bookmark it and play there often.
I rarely see the same chap again and again in the dedicated server system. Besides, playing any game initially will you owned by other people. Practise more and you'll own them. If not, find some friends that is good and play together. Better than depending on totally random folks where some of them are just there to ruin your game with hacks.
Besides, MW2's matchmaking only have like 6 players a side for most game types, whats the fun in that? The battlefield feels empty on some bigger maps and it feels like a wild goose chase than a war if everyone decides to camp. It's called Modern Warfare for a reason. I would take 12 vs 12 to 32 vs 32 anytime on other games.
The only problem with BFBC2's server browser is it finds every single server out there which is annoying. Cant they have region?
I enjoyed MW2 during the free weekend, but comparing the experience i had in BFBC2 or any other dedicated server based FPS,i enjoyed more in those games. The matchmaking system is good,as it finds games quite fast. Host Migration does things quite fast too, even it does kill the pacing of the game a bit but the problem is,there is no PB or admin to monitor the game where hackers are everywhere.
I dont mind getting owned by good players,as they are the best people to learn from, but i do mind getting own by a hacker.
About SP, most people cant be bothered with it as MP is where the fun is.
