Just wondering,

How many of you moved on from CoD4 to MW2? Did you find MW2 more amusing? Because back in December '09, I bought my first CoD title : MW2, for the PC. Enjoyed it alot, played until 2nd prestige then started getting bored and only played occasionally.. Then, got a PS3 a month ago. I bought MW2 for the PS3 (waste of money, I know), feels more rewarding than on PC because of hackers/glitchers etc. The bore is kicking in, and I'm starting to wonder if I should play Cod4.

Do you guys watch commentaries on youtube by Hutch, SeaNanners, or essinDEES? They all came from the cod4 community and seem to love to compare it to mw2. I played cod4 abit on the pc at my friend's house. Seemed more fun, because the noobtube and super long ranged shotguns on MW2 just spoil the whole game.

So what are your opinions? Should I play both? I watched alot of Cod4 montages and the maps look better than in MW2 because there aren't many places where you can just sit at one spot and wait for people to come, you have to run around and enjoy shooting . I mean, I play these games for fun : MW2 is a very well developed game, but the community just spoils it : Boosters, glitchers, hackers, and those that just trash talk all the time, and what I find the most annoying, noobtubers w/ scavenger.

You could try and play COD 4 Promod TDM on the espgl tdm server. You can also try to search for Promod SnD servers in the SEA area. Promod already does away with the tubes and most of the imbalanced weapons. It is a refined version of the stock COD 4, toned down to fit the competitive scene internationally. However, i'd say it doesn't stop you from playing PAM/Stock servers like narakka.

A simple, very simple, comparison would put MW 2 as a casual game and COD 4 more suited competitive play.

In my opinion, the longer you play any game, you eventually get bored of it. Just find a game and play it with a group of friends (SnD mix scrim ftw xp)

You mean they have dedicated servers on console too? Wow.
Well, most of the time I get angry is because I'm trying to snipe like the pros out there (halfway there! I can get some nifty drag shots and qs-es tongue.gif) and end up getting a 1:2 k/d ratio at the end of the game because of tubers , commando etc

I do play with friends, but the bad thing is that I don't have a headset. Makes it so much harder to type!

#fly if you do not like tubers and nade spammers u better keep away from narakka servers it, some players there just outright use nade spamming or tube spamming combinations its not even funny.

Yes, I watched Hutch, SeaNanners, and such in YouTube and found it to be interesting, SN even has loads of CoD5 montages too, woot! Have you seen this one yet? Titled "Modern Warfare 2: SniPinAtoR's Why IW Doesn't Advertise MP"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6jGlnbZn38

Previously the lack of dedicated server feature barred me from purchasing and testing out CoD6, but nowadays I don't even care, I never played CoD6 ; SP &or MP, and I don't felt missing and left out in any way. Alternating between CoD4 and CoD5 is good enough for me at the moment. Also, instead of purchasing MW2 for console, you could have buy MW for PC instead ;p

On a side note 1, what's your say on BFBC2 gameplay? On a side note 2 ; did you know that the AC-130 and Tactical Nuclear Strike in CoD6 actually originated from a CoD4 mod? If you don't, then check the link below, else - have a nice day!

zerashk did u know that there is a part of cod4 where you need to use the ac-130 to kill people below? that was originated from single player technically. and in mw2 you cant spam the ac130 machine gun as much as the video showed. then again it could be them just showing the ac-130 not showing how much can you shoot.

The video is basically complaining bout the whole game; He even complains bout camping where he himself is doing it. Though I've not played / bought MW2 cause of the lack of dedicated servers, isn't what perks are what made MW addictive in the 1st place? It lets each individual player play in a different style.

I know it can be frustrating where ppl abuse powerful perks and weapons and the thing is all this perks and weapons are also available to you right? Join the club! I know it's not suitable in a competitive environment but I do not see any problem when playing in a casual setting. If not, twick it alil to discourage the abusive use.

Added on April 11, 2010, 12:36 pmOk, the knifing through walls is really weird. Probably a glitch or lag that I think doesn't happen often.

The video is true.

MW2 feels so arcadish with weird hit boxes. It's fun at the beginning(dont talk about connection issues and no dedicated),then,it start to get annoying with all those noobtubing, super knives that is more powerful than guns, stupid perks and the list goes on.

Im saying it's way more arcadish than what i remember from CoD4 and CoD5.Or any FPS.

The some of the perks and killstreaks are insane. More like an instant win button.

lets be honest, BC2 and MW2 are very different kind of FPS. BC2 offers vehicle combat(which I actually like) and squad combat while MW2 is all about fast paced shooter action.

In the past I have tolerated with ppl comparing BC2 with MW2 because I didn't know how BC2 would look like. However, having played BC2 recently, I can say that ironically its easier to get into games on MW2 than BC2.

Reason? Unless you already know what are the dedicated servers(like MBT) already at present, you would literally spend minutes trying to browse/ get into a server just to play. Fine I say, and then you will find that most servers you got into are laggy. Dedi servers? No problem but you will indefinitely grow sick of being killed by the same chap over and over again. And then when you try to browse for any other server, you just cant seem to get them and you would most likely be back at the same dedi server again. While playing with the same people is enjoying, there are times I would love to play with other people and BC2 makes me put more effort staring the browser while I pray I could find a nice server

And did I mentioned BC2 single play is not as good as MW2's? Guess I did not

Just because MW2 does not have dedi server doesn't it deserved to be mocked over and over again over the issue.

No matter how long it takes to find servers, it's definitely better than getting host migration in the middle of the game or 2-3 hackers in each game where they totally ruin the game. Or worse, stuck with a bad host after migration or you couldnt migrate and get kick out. Host migration spoils the pacing. There is something called favourites,if you like this server, bookmark it and play there often.

I rarely see the same chap again and again in the dedicated server system. Besides, playing any game initially will you owned by other people. Practise more and you'll own them. If not, find some friends that is good and play together. Better than depending on totally random folks where some of them are just there to ruin your game with hacks.

Besides, MW2's matchmaking only have like 6 players a side for most game types, whats the fun in that? The battlefield feels empty on some bigger maps and it feels like a wild goose chase than a war if everyone decides to camp. It's called Modern Warfare for a reason. I would take 12 vs 12 to 32 vs 32 anytime on other games.

The only problem with BFBC2's server browser is it finds every single server out there which is annoying. Cant they have region?

I enjoyed MW2 during the free weekend, but comparing the experience i had in BFBC2 or any other dedicated server based FPS,i enjoyed more in those games. The matchmaking system is good,as it finds games quite fast. Host Migration does things quite fast too, even it does kill the pacing of the game a bit but the problem is,there is no PB or admin to monitor the game where hackers are everywhere.

I dont mind getting owned by good players,as they are the best people to learn from, but i do mind getting own by a hacker.

About SP, most people cant be bothered with it as MP is where the fun is.

Yes,but it's much better than MW2,as IW thinks, having tubes on Assault Rifles isnt enough, they even give you secondary grenade launchers.

Besides, BFBC2 have tanks and other vehicles to deal with the tubers. There are more counters, even though the same abuse occur in both games.

Yep! Death from Above!! Awesome level indeed. I can't say much about the X4 CoD4 mod other that such mod exist and I thought it would be an interesting thing to know.

@ TS

I'd recommend to get CoD4 and/or CoD5 even for your FPS gaming pleasure, as I've mentioned, I'm alternating between CoD4 and CoD5 nowadays and that two games kept me occupied enough already.

Not so bad la,but a lot of stuttering till cant play.

Damnit.

MW2 is fun,but it's full of hackers, host migration and matchmaking.
BFBC2 is fun,but too laggy on my com.

Better get CoD4 then.
