Yep. If Nokia and Symbian Foundation didn't get their act together, I feared that it will be surpassed by Apple.
Although been using Symbian phones rite now (X6 and N97), I'm really not the fan of it (Maemo/ Meego FTW!). But I'm super pissed off with the Apple- centric views of foreign blogs, which dismisses Symbian as a smartphone platform, eventhough they are the ones who defines what a smartphone is.

And bout the WP7 vs Iphone OS 4, I think MS was putting their bet on the XBox Live and Zune intergration for their trump card in the battle with Apple's iPhone. No comment yet as the platforms still didn't arrived in the market yet but surely interesting time ahead!

you 4got to count in Apple's 4G/HD newer OS which might surpass even the great Winmo7~
I admit, I cant wait to have a Winmo7 device in my hands, but somehow, I hope if Apple do learn from their previous mistakes, they might pawn Winmo7 back..
Iphone alone, raked in sales till 30 million (Appx), let alone a new toy by Apple will rake in more sales..
I do hope Symbian can improve and have more apps though~
But I guess most cards are still on Winmo7 or Android 2.2 (or more )

Nowadays ppl also too SMART d, can make iphone hv dual boot OS.

Yep..and to see that slowly sees that Apple bowing to consumer demand also a good sign. Apple surely one of the main contender in this growing smartphone battle.

For me, the card still lies on Symbian^3 and ^4. They have great consumer backing, great infrastructure support (QT and lots more), great manufacturer support (Nokia, Samsung etc) and great marketshare (the leading smartphone OS). Yes, I know that the current crop of Symbian flagships really was a let down in terms of performance etc. But looking back again, lets take for example N97, we can see how close Nokia were from producing a noteworthy phone. If only they did not skimped up the C: drive, the RAM and the proc, it could do much better. But look, eventhough with all the shortcoming, its sale were quite good. And that while still running the so called ancient OS

Now imagine if Nokia remedy all those problem. The rumored Nokia N8 and E7 really sounded great. And maybe they could become best sellers

N8 is a great welcome but I am afraid, it might be a let down like n97 series.
They said the phone supports 720p replay but I highly doubt it can replay such heavy and powerful video format.

It is all about the processor.. maybe not the best and fastest but I think it still can support it

well... symbian platform actually had make backup which is Symbian^4 .. So, when Symbian^3 is failed.. Symbian^4 will replace it...
It is obvious as the Symbian^4 has been tested ...it is so early as Symbian^3 not even launched in market yet..
probably will launch in 2011...

it is because.. I heard Apple iPhone OS4 will be the best challenger for them rather than Android/WinPhone7 ...

I saw many Symbian fans here though i havent really own a symbian ( same or newer than series 60) phone, i found that it was the smartphone to get during the heydays of Nokia back 2-6years ago.

honestly, it got surpassed by iphone and android now in terms of functionality and UI(which is very important).

And as for other OS like winphone7 and bada? winphone7 is not bad, but i doubt much manufacturer will be interested to adopt it that soon. But sooner or later if winphone7 lives up to its hype, it will compete side by side with android and iphone os. As for Bada, much had been said in bada thread, the Os was basically It was just the same samsung OS(previous user shuld know like i do ) with added capability of having apps installable natively. Unless Samsung keep on selling phones with Bada os at lower profit margin, else people wont be interested.

The upcoming 6months for this year and for the next few years will see Android climbing up the top spot given on how Google competitively released newer revision every once a while. On top of that, the most important thing is still the quality of apps available for the smartphone platform. The top players will see iphone vs android for the foreseeable future.

ANDROID OS 2.2 also POWERFUL
ALL FIGHT TOGETHER dunno who will win...
