Hmmm discussion about Promod = CS 1.6 is like so long ago, i forgot how to explain it already. Basically Promod is NOT 1.6. You don't need to buy guns and ammo in the beginning of the game. Obviously you can't prone in CS 1.6 which already big difference in term of gameplay. And you don't have health bar, in CoD4 you can regen. And CoD4 you can aim downsight and CS you have to play to aim headshot only. And CoD4 you can sprint and strafe jump. And many more gameplay difference between Promod and CS1.6.

Stock CoD4 is too random for competitive playing. Imagine when you already clutch ace (1v5 kill all opponent team) and you just need to defuse the bomb, then suddenly claymore is in the bombsite and you weren't aware of it then boom, opposite team wins.

Or another one, opposite teams just use tubes and RPG and rush to your team then boom they win just like that.

Well I'm not that good in explaining, can someone help me?

The main point I was talking is, Promod already does away with the tubes and most of the imbalanced weapons. It is a refined version of the stock COD 4, toned down to fit the competitive scene internationally. (quote from rotisejuk in the other thread. thanks roti <3)

And anyways, if you don't like Promod, there are many stock servers, if you buy an original CoD4, you can refresh the "Internet" tab in the join game menu, 7k servers exists the last time I checked. With ping difference of course.

Okay,as long as the core CoD4's gameplay is there,i dont mind.

I saw CS:S's Promod and it's disgusting.

promod basicly is a competitive mod

wut u will be expecting is tweek'd graphic, balanced map, balanced planting time n defuse, balanced weapon
more strategic gameplay, less randomness. u get the point.

promod is nt only available for cod4, u have it for cod2, cs, and so on.

What i think is, some Promod servers are cracked servers.

You can enter Promod servers with ori or cracked.

most SEA servers don't filter cracked cd keys...(for some reason >:D)

The drill says get an original copy.

The reason of PROMOD being brought up is to balance and create a more competitive scene so that it eliminate the "external factor". If you don't like it, you can go play servers without mod. There's still alot of em around in SEA.

The pure numbers definitely show that worldwide, on PC, Promod + stock CoD4 along with all the little holdouts on other random semi-succesful for-fun mods are > the concurrent on IWNet.

Pure stock vs MW2, on the other hand, I'm not so sure, especially in areas where MW2 isn't absolutely crippled by/plagued with shitty internet infrastructure. In my opinion MW2 could so easily have been the better game, but... yeah. Thanks Activision/IW :/

edit: You never know if you'll like Promod till you actually try it. And when you buy CoD4 you get to play both, anyway. Just sayin.

MW2 is actually quite decent game,i would say,if you are not affected by internet problems. It find games fast,which is even faster than digging through your favourites some times.There isnt much noticeable lag,even most games i got are 2-3 bars. 4 bars feels like playing on a dedicated server.The matchmaking isnt as painful compared to GFWL or Gamespy.

The guns are shiny and look pretty cool. Some of the new stuff are pretty fun like Semtex grenades are pretty fun...

Until you open the Can of Problems,where you find annoying Akimbos, stupidly far knifing with Commando, hackers, hackers, hackers, laggers, noob tubes with Scavenge, knifing is much more superior than guns where they charge forward and kill you,even if you shoot, small games, small games on large maps, OP Killstreaks and so on. Im still not gonna buy it.

EA please optimise your BFBC2 more so that i can play it on my com please.

now i have a problem with punkbuster~ T.T

everytime i start up mp mode... i get a msg saying that punkbuster fails to initialise and it's being disable.

went to options to enable it.

ina punkbuster enable server i get kick after awhile with a msg saying that there is no packet flow?

I went here http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=dl-cod4.php for solution and dl the files to my game folder.
