RM3.3k should be the standard rate for that position. for fresh graduates i interviewed, their expectation varied from RM2k all the way to RM3.3k.
end of the day, the ones successfully hired are all getting paid RM2.8k.

Sounds like salaries might be on the uptrend again. Employees' market ahead?

I absolutely agree with your statement  laugh.gif

Last month I went for an interview with a big MNC company
the session went well since the job is almost similar with what i'm currently doing
i'm asking salary for 2.8K, but later after 2 days they call me and offer 3.3K basic salary

now i'm feeling more confidence to secure a job with my current knowledge and exp
never thought that I can beat a few other candidates with 1st Class Degree Holder  tongue.gif

Hope I'm not getting off topic..just sharing my point

how many year of experience u have in sales engineer position, since 3.3k as basic is quite high in my opinion.

TS, good topic~

For me, i'm a sales engineer myself too... Worked 1.5yrs but in different industry and my current company considered me as a fresh grad~ Even if i previously worked in a Sales&Marketing position in my ex-company.

So fine, i agreed with them on considering me as a fresh grad as they 'pushed' the fact that i'm a freshie in the engineering industry.

My previous job offered me 2k. Now i'm down to 1.8k without any %commission.....

For the past few months i managed settle deals amounting to 200k. (not much though i guess)... But apparently, i dont even get 1% out of it...

Whats best? I wouldn't be boasting, but one of my managers told me that my command of Eng is one of the best in the company, and they wanted me to do presentations to companies and in seminars. =="

I'm totally fine with that but the basic for the company is SERIOUSLY PATHETIC.....

As mentioned above by you guys, 2.8k-3.3k range is basic? got +%commission?

*Sighs~~ Wish my salary would rise~

On a side note, i think my boss saw the 200k took in for the company.... Now he's giving me a full year target~ 1.6m all the way to Dec'11. When i hit 1.6m, i ONLY GET 4months bonus and rm400/month increase in salary. Honestly 4months? Isn't it too little??

I dont know guys~ I may be ranting here but i really hope to get some feedback esp from other sales engineers. My company is dealing more with photovoltaics, capacitor banks, circuit breakers, contactors and many more... (if you guys know what i'm talking about)

cheers~ dont flame happy.gif

1.8k wif no comm is a low. usually sales eng basic low but its compensated with commission which can hit 10k in a good sales since u r dealing with cap banks,pv,cb,etc. 1.6mill shouldnt be hard to hit as the market has many projects now.

but ur 1.8k is basic only u still can claim mileage ? car maintenance? hp? right? ++ -- u can hit about 2.5k? no?
