 How to install Hager EH711, wanna make timer for house outdoor light

Sorry for bumping up this old thread but I think it's still better than creating a new one on similar topic.

About the timer for porch light, since there's no neutral line next to the switch, I guess it should be ok to just install the timer next to the light itself right? As my porch light is those normal 4' fluorescent light, I'm ok with the timer box siting next to it.

Thanks for the suggestion. May I know how's your experience using the wifi one? Does it come with internal battery for the time backup?

So far so good till today. Nothing happen and no issue.

The different between 2 is that hager run on mechanical timer. While Sonoff on electronic software timer. But Sonoff require wifi and net.
