probably can't POST??? since the controller cannot identify 4GB RAM...

anyway, i am running Win7 x64 on my netbook with 1GB... performance is pretty snappy, as long as u dun run too many programs... and with decent battery life as well... slightly more than 4hrs with 3-cell battery...

in Uni it's my main working machine... back in my room it doubles as a digital photo frame and music station as well... laugh.gif

my N81Vp is now more like a server + game...

the only time when it leaves my room is when i go and have some lan parties with my friends in the Uni Residence.. .brows.gif

an no, this Aspire One that i has probably has the most basic config... it even came preloaded with XP... but heck, it's cheap...

oh, and did i mention it has a 802.11n adapter??? tongue.gif that is really rare for a netbook...

well, if u ask me, the battery life is decent enuf for normal use... unless u are outside for prolonged period, i really dun see the pt in more battery...

as for RAM, this can be really subjective... i am happy with 1GB only... it's already good enuf for my work...

the fatness is becuz of the aspect ratio??? since 16:9 will make the monitor shorter and fatter than 16:10...

anyway, personal experience with Acer's Ultrathin design is that, u'll appreciate it... it makes portability a much easier task... nod.gif even my friend is saying that my netbook is much more sleeker and easier to carry compared to his (a N270 NEC netbook that looks like a brick... laugh.gif)
