Anyway, in addition to the checklist provided on the front page, anything elase we should watch out for when collecting our car? Here is some of the additional things I know need to check/watch out for:-
1. Mileage on odometer
2. Scratches
3. Petrol

My SA said I should be able to collect my car this Friday but I am still sceptical... hmm.gif

Any bros or Sis got their 2.0 lately? Seems to be very quiet nowadays. No one complaining already?

Already mid April and still no news of my forte. Sigh...
*
I just collected my 2.0 from Rawang and I must say, the drive back was AWESOME. I was at 110 km/h and it felt like i was doing 70 km/h. The noise insulation is great and stability is excellent. When I had my vios, I was afraid to really go beyond 110 as the car felt like flying but I don't think I will have an issue for the Forte biggrin.gif The only complaint I had was some minor scratches on the front bumper which I put in my remarks on the checklist. Of course, the petrol was almost zero but I filled at the nearby Petronas station for RM99 and adjusted the tyre pressure from 320 shocking.gif to 220. Last Monday I was sad when I surrendered my vios but today I feel like I can't believe I was driving a vios. The other complaint of course is the road tax jumping from RM 90 to RM 379 but it's worth the extra driving pleasure thumbup.gif thumbup.gif thumbup.gif .

Bro titarium - please "darken" my name for 2.0 - Bright Silver (they ran out of white but this colour looks great too biggrin.gif )

P/S - For T & H fanboys, go scr** yourselves until you testdrive the Forte (especially the 2.0). This is a public service message brought to you by a former T fanboy flex.gif

cry.gif cry.gif I am so sad, yesterday went to visit my aunt and while parking, I accidentally grazed my tyre against the kerb. Initially, I thought no issue but when to check the tyre, the outer layer was slight torn and peeled off and the rim around that spot had minor graze. Luckily, spare tyre was the same 17" with the rims, so swap both and plan to go to Chan Sow Lin SC today for wheel balancing and alignment. So used to my previous car with 14" rim and higher profile where you hit the kerb, there no visible damage. So dear Fortezans, be extra careful when you are parking near kerbs. The low profile 17" rims and tyres are extra "sensitive" to damages. My baby one week old already sudah kena sad.gif

2nd Call....Can anyone pls, what's the "TRIP" button for? Thank Q Thank Q.

Actually "Drive and Park Carefully"... tongue.gif . Anyway, the "TRIP" button is to change the display instrument on the odometer i.e. you press the TRIP button and look at the display on your odometer..it will give you distance to empty, TRIP A, TRIP B etc when you press and continously press the "TRIP" button....hope my explanation helps... smile.gif

BTW..anyone can recommend a good mechanic shop or SC to do the alignment and wheel balancing?

Hi everyone, just to update on fixing my alignment problem. I decided to go to Setapak SC instead of Chan Sow Lin after reading the following reviews/blog:-

http://mykiaforte.blogspot.com/2009/12/pre...at-1000-km.html
http://mykiaforte.blogspot.com/2010/01/my-...ak-sc.html#more

After finding the address from nazakia website and google map to get to Jalan Usahawan 6, I took a drive there and was suprised to see the size of this SC shocking.gif , it was HUGE. I drove in at 15:59 and my wheel alignment and balancing was completed by 17:00 (inclusive of free car wash, although nothing really spectacular about it). Anyway, I feel the car alignment is pretty much solved and driving feels much smoother thumbup.gif . So for those who are having alignment issues, I seriously advocate that you visit the Setapak SC. Their waiting lounge is comfortable with free teh tarik / white coffee from the machine and you can observe them servicing your car smile.gif The service is almost as good as UMW toyota in section 227 where I used to send my previous car. The only surprise I had was the technician left their spanars in my car which I kindly returned whistling.gif . I was not charged anything as my odometer was below 400 km. I plan to do all my future services at this branch rclxms.gif

Hi everyone, I have a question, when I sent my car initially for wheel balancing and alignment, the odometer was 357km but when I collected the car, the reading was 363km. Is this normal or did one of the SA decide to take my car for a joyride? hmm.gif

not to woory bro, they need to test it on the road after wheel balancing & Alignment cause need to determine if it still have problem even after they did the alignment. Minimize the customer to complain back again if not satisfy with their workmanship.

Thanks bro, feel more relieved now smile.gif BTW, saw a white SX today around 8:30 a.m. driving past Yaohan The Mall. Number plate WTS 7xx6 with the black "KIA" emblem. Belong to any forumers here?

so hows ur alignment now bro ruth? did they manage to rectify the problem of the alignment on ur forte?
*
It is definitely much more improved compared to earlier but whether its 100% solved I won't commit yet as I haven't driven past 110 since getting the car back. Remember, for my case, I swapped the spare tyre with the front left tyre as I accidentally grazed the tyre against the kerb while parking sad.gif . Anyway, after swapping, there was like a "drag" feel to the left even while driving at low/normal speeds which is gone now after the servicing smile.gif . I will comment again after driving on the highway but I can easily say the problem is 90% solved thumbup.gif

ruth1977,
Dun worry, I dun think they use your machine for joyride.furthermore, the difference was only few km only.My car is even higher. The have use around 40km++ for testing my alignment coz the need to try and eror.in fact they use a ong straight road to test onhigh speed.Anyway, I'm in the car with the during test driving. After all, satisfy with the alignment....
*
40km++ shocking.gif ? But at least you were in the car when test driving, while I was not. Anyway not planning to make an issue of it, just worried earlier as the 2.0 is recently released and thinking that the SA want to get CARGASM at our expense. Just don't want anything else happen to my "precious" brows.gif BTW, where did you send yours for the alignment? Seems like they were doing a very thorough professional work thumbup.gif

I do the 1st service at SG pinang last week. The cost is RM203.60 with syntium300+OF.Actually the price is after a special offer/discount of rm23.60 that time. Then the alignment things is FOC.Excellence SC anyway...
*
Oh sorry, didn't realize you were from Penang, bro smile.gif . Think I will stick to the Setapak branch for my servicing. Don't mind paying a little extra for good service tongue.gif , unless someone can recommend a good dealer in klang valley to go to for good servicing and discount? brows.gif

thumbup.gif Excellent idea and fully support it thumbup.gif although say the "not recommeded" SC/dealer do not find their names on the list, wonder if they will throw a frenzy at our forum hmm.gif

Anyway, I want to ask if anyone has experienced picking up their keys from the cupholder after one hour driving, the keys are quite hot? Anyone know the cause and how to rectify it? icon_question.gif

That's what exactly JB SC ppl told me, and also I found out that the way to inspect if your tyre inside-out.
Read thru your tyre wall, there's words DOT Y07R ...make sure before this word is 87H...(in bigger font).
So, let's check your tyres fortezens..hehehe

drool.gif
All my 4 got 87H outside thumbup.gif

BTW...just want to check how many used the mineral package for 1st service (1000km)? I have read a few places to use mineral for 1st service as this the break-in period but some threads say there is not difference between full synthetic and mineral for new cars like our forte? I was thinking of mineral for 1st service and then fully synthetic from the 2nd service (5000km) onwards. What do you guys think/recommend?

Also, I want to check how are the FC for your cars. When I collected last Monday, I filled with BHP full tank (RM 99) and I have done only about 390 km and the tank was almost empty (FC indicator was 12.8 l/km shocking.gif ). I refilled today with 46 l of Caltex as recommended by a friend saying it gives better km/l. So basically, I want to get an idea of which petrol to use that will give <10 l/km based on our Fortezen experience/experiments ? hmm.gif

Bro, is your 1.6 or 2.0? and did you achieve this excellent FC from start or after 1st service(do let us know if you chose mineral or full synthetic)? I hope there is nothing wrong with my car (FC= 12.8 l/km) sad.gif
