Hi .. remember me. Last month, I deserted Forte 2.0 after 3 and half months waiting and cancelled my booking.

Yesterday 6th April was exactly 4 months after my booking which I cancelled last month. The car that I booked arrived at my dealer yesterday. Me ex-SA SMS(ed) me. So I just stopped by to see her for the first time and to wish her goodbye ... to be handed over to the next booker in queue. TitSilver, dust dirty after travelling 460km on truck, only 11 km on ODO. I sat in it ... play2 with its superlight MDPS steering, played the music loud, press2 the leather seat, touch2 the cruise control button, turn(on) its auto-climate aircon. Couldn't testdrive it though coz it's in the back stock yard.

Didn't experience CARgasm .. nor did I fall in luv with it's looks again. Just a simple feeling of appreciation of a well-spec and clean designed car ... whom i 've once had a crush and willing to wait since early Disember.

After much sensible thinking overnight, phoned my ex- SA just now and said ... " I still want her". The next booker will just have to wait for his white 2.0 next month.

My (no-longer-ex)SA still has my loan locked at 2.9%, and still kept my JPJ receipt for the plate number which i bought months ago. So tomorrow, I'm going down to settle my full d/payment ... and hopefully next week can testdrive a Forte for the first time and take it home.

The 3 weeks between my booking cancellation and yesterday ... i put my mind on other things ... mainly losing weight programmes. If can't have a new car ... at least have a new looking belly.

I've always known that buying Forte is a GOOD decision. But being part a complex family web ... it's difficult to make the final decision.

Ohh heck, I'll just spill the beans. I cancelled my booking last month coz I 'm 'forced' or 'coerced' into selling my 2003 vios 1.5 G for only RM30K to a family member. Felt 'serabut' at the time and thought might as well drive the vios until caputtt ..

As if things are falling into place .... the plate no. 77X (my birth month and year) which I bought 3 months and 1 day ago (on 6th january) is still mine today.

I never bothered to renew the number ownership monthly coz too busy and also wasn't sure whether it expired after 1 or 3 months.

Wen to see my SA just now and paid him RM50 to renew the number ownership.

And what the heck ... might as well pay him the whole downpayment as well and sign the agreement. And I did.

There's no turning back. We'll be the first 2.0 forte in Kelantan next week.

Hi guys.. I want to share some ugly experience with a Bright Silver Forte at USJ awhile ago, approximately 8pm. Me and wifey are having dinner in Simon's Place (USJ Taipan) The restaurant was quite full with customer.. got kids and baby also. This bugger .. went inside his forte and honk so loud!

1. For goodness sake, the owner of the honda city (having his dinner in the restaurant) saw u go inside the car oredi fast fast grab the keys and move  towards his car. Do u have to honk so many times and so loud? Did u notice alot of ppl in the restaurant staring at you and cursing?

2. Dont need to show off, just a Kia Forte, not a Ferrari.. Be consideratelah.. honk once is enough.. Sumore reverse that time keep rev the engine.. Blardy hell.. the number plate is WTM 8**5.

If u r a member of this forum, I hope u dont do this kind of idiotic things la.. ur lucky ppl didnt throw stuff at ur new car. Anyway I'm not trying to create a flame war here, but too let the owner of this particular car to learn his manners.

As I deem Forte a 'handsome' car (civic is sleek, mazda3 sexy-smiley, altis .. emmm not sure) ... I will try next week to act 'handsomely' when seen around my forte ... ie petrol station, parking lot, traffic jam .. etc. What more now that I'm working in dugong-land and staying at civic-ville. Eyes will be watching ... so keep the cool and charisma. cool2.gif

guys, what the current interest rate right now? which branch offer the lowest rate...Selayang branch offer me 3.5 interest rate...
*
I donno the exact answer .. but generally interest rate hiked from 2.7-3.0% before 15 march ... to 3.4 -3.7% after that ... which I think still is today. My SA managed to lock my loan at 2.9% early march despite car only arriving 6th April.

Dunno 'bout days to come ... or of any outlier bank offering 2.7-3.0% again. wink.gif

i was argue with my SA for the LCD. He will give me full refunds if tomorrow booking at carnival with free LCD. So tomorrow i'll be there and hunt for the LCD.

BTW, i just book on 2/4/10. I don't care if I cancel and re-book anyway. wish me luck.
*
Just make sure that there will be no change in expected time of car delivery compared to your existing booking 2.4.10.

Perhaps those who book tomorrow will get some much-later-arrive CKD stock .. which perhaps will be affected by some price hike later due to perhaps the noise made by perhaps T,H and P.

So perhaps to substantiate the price hike and late delivery, you get to watch Avatar blu-ray on an 32 incher + 2K for Forte mods. T,H and P can't make noise if NAZA giving freebies right?

Just an overstretched speculation blush.gif

Added on April 9, 2010, 7:25 pmOh forgot .. forte was and is CKD in the first place.

normal = soft break in smile.gif me actually decided to do a combination of soft & intermediate type of break in by revving the engine up to 4k++ rpm from time to time to bring my car to its maximum torque. But unfortunately, got someone cucuk me on the highway yesterday that makes me flooring the accelerator & the engine scream to the redline thus surge the car forward in no time & smoked him. but his 1.6 wira aeroback is obviously not a match to my 2.0 Forte anyway. Maybe he mistakenly thought that mine was 1.6 Forte  tongue.gif

Stupendous stupido question:
Does the engine break-in work at 0 km/h? I mean revv it up to redline at gear P or N. laugh.gif

Don't have car yet ... PUSPAKOM check.. blabalabla.

The engine need loads for proper break in. Revving freely in P or N (without load) will not do.

After lunch today, I drove my beloved Vios '03 to town. The first car I own. Good steering feedback, quick acceleration. So much sentimental value attached to my good 'ol Vios. We'll never depart. Really pi**ed off with this tribe so called the Fortezeans who kept on 'kutuk'ing my Vios clan. mad.gif Shiishhh ... "cheap Korean contraption", I'd say to them.

Ironically today, drove over to a local town Kia dealer and to testdrive for the first time ever this so called Pourteh.
Just wanna see what the big deal is all about ... and this Pourteh's a 2.0 TitanSilver.

Drove and drove and drove around town. cool2.gif cool2.gif
Well ... I was so blown away by this 'cheap Korean contraption'... I drove it straight home and parked it in my porch. wub.gif The dealer is not getting it back!! He can have my Vios ... which is parked at his parking lot.

(My brother-in-law later went to fetch my Vios ... lucky him).

Limeeuu ... I believe among us the 2009 early bookers, you'll probably be the Last of The Mohicans .. i mean Fortezeans. flex.gif However, congratz that your car has arrived. thumbup.gif

Until now, still no SC can fix our Forte's alignment problem right? except the JB SC that solved this problem by installing the tyres 'inside out'. Is it the proven method to fix the alignment problem? i'm quite sceptical about it...
*
Haven't done my alignment yet. Car do tend to deviate to left.

Unclear 'bout this 'inside out' installation. Did the problem arise because the 2 of the stock rims are designed to turn clockwise (hence should be on forte's right front and rear) and the other 2 rims are meant to turn anticlockwise (hence should be on the left).(?) So if NAZA didn't install the rims accordingly ... alignment suffers. Just assuming though ..... the rims might be all the same.

Or could it be the stock tyres were not installed on the correct (left/right) side to ensure they turn as they're designed to (either clockwise or anticlockwise) according to each tyre thread pattern.(?) Anyway ... I haven't really look at the tyre thread pattern yet. I doubt tyres are specified into 2 ... to turn either clockwise or anticlockwise.

Sorry for the giddiness induced rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

your tire is not directional so can use both directions ler that was a misinformation. keep telling u guys its caster and camber.
*
Not being much of a car-mechanics buff , will proceed with alignment first and hopefully goes well.
If not , have to read-up more regarding caster and camber.

Interestingly, my brother's Peugeot 308THP CBU also deviate to right (or is it left) on straight driving. After much researching, he learnt that it is purposely tuned as such because highways in France are not level .... they are slightly angled to the left. This is done to ensure rainwater flows to the side of the road and not get pooled in the middle of the road. Thus the alignment are offset to the right to counter the road which are levelled to the left. Dunno true or not... nod.gif

its to the left KLAuto boss Desmond also have 308THP same problem cause for left hand drive market they are on the right side of the road which means their road is sloping to the right therefore the need the car setup to lean to left to compensate. when its used here we all end up going to the left pulak! rclxub.gif
*
rclxub.gif for awhile there. Yup .. recalled my bro saying it deviates to the left. Couldn't make it out earlier coz not sure whether France left or right sided lane driving. So maybe they didn't retune the alignment after making right -hand-driven Pugs for our boleh-land. rclxub.gif Again.

Anyway, could it be that the same approach done for Forte by the Koreans? I mean ... car alignments are tuned to the left to counter the Korean highway road which is sloping to the right. I'm already rclxub.gif shocking.gif to think. Don't even know in Korea left or right lane driving.

Went to town for AirCool Tinting but shop closed. sad.gif
Passed by a newly-opened tint shop using IceGard. hmm.gif

Not familiar with the brand... but they demonstrated their full range of films' heat rejection using infrared spotlight. Even between infrared rejection of 86% and 94%, can feel significant difference in heat penetration. nod.gif Also convinced with their 8 mil safety films (that doesn't break), however I chose the 4 mil security film.

Really satisfied with their workmanship icon_rolleyes.gif ... i guess new shops have a thing to prove. Got an RM450 tint voucher which I plan to giveaway to family.

Next plan, to get a 1.8 (not a typo!) emblem for my SX... whistling.gif

FC improving throughout my 2.0 engine break-in.

Previously calculated 10.7 km/liter RON 95 over first 500km ODO.(20%city, 20%highway,60% B-road).

rclxms.gif Presently calculated 11.5 km per liter RON 95 .... travelling same route.

Hopefully further improvement after 1K service this weekend.
