haha look properly that one is how many kilometers per liter of fuel...
*
Haa .. sorry. I'm used to calculating XXkm per litre of petrol consumed coz' wife's car uses km/L unit display (suzuki SX4).

Also to easier remind myself that if i wanna go to town 11km just for 1 roti-canai and teh tarik .. it'll cost me RM2 for food and RM 4 for petrol. biggrin.gif

All my 4 wheels also DOT Y07R YA5P | 215/45R17 87H
Is it correct?

QUOTE(christ_liew @ Apr 22 2010, 10:13 AM)
bro, as mention suppose to be 215/45R17 87H DOT Y07R YA5P

Checked my tyres ..

My right front tyre label read clockwise is 215/45R17 87H DOT Y07R YA5P
hmm.gif It also has this icon of circled CCC (see image) before 215/45R17 87H DOT Y07R YA5P

Attached Image

The rest 3 tyres reads clockwise as DOT Y07R YA5P | 215/45R17 87H
and there is no circled CCC icon seen anywhere on the sidewall.

Correct me please .... My right front tyre is correctly installed.
the 3 tyres are inside out and should be flipped/turn inside out. icon_question.gif

Also noticed that one of my rear tyre (which I think is incorrectly installed) has a crack on its sidewall.

Just a question i have in my mind guys ...

After seeing Forte in real, no doubt it's a very nice car - high technology with
a very very reasonable price..

Forte : Good features and technology car and it only cost 82k.

Warranty by KIA : 2 yrs only.
In the long run, how confident are u all in the reliability of the car ? Lets say in 5 yrs time
*
I friend at work drives a KIA Spectra Novus for 3 years. He said he had no problem so far with the car.
For a brand new model like forte with no actual predecessor to be based on, no one can really say how reliable it's gonna be down the years. I'm hoping for the best and just enjoy the ride daily as it comes. biggrin.gif

agree with u bro...these so called experts dont even research or read up on this...just pass on exactly wat other so called experts say....not all SC or alignment centres know wat they r doin n not everything they say can be trusted....most of the owners here dont even test the alignment properly....most of our roads are sloped and our tyres n rims r heavy...so the pull is more noticeable compared to other cars. the proper way is like wat bro KFC did....adjustable cambers...or we can ask SC to do realignment with slight offset to the right...but on really flat roads, it will pull to the right pulak...couple of my forte frens were whining on these issue as well..i brought them to a considerably flat road n ask them drive...they were suprised!!!....in fact one of them has no alignment problem at all when i test drove his car, just because other ppl has these problme, he fix in his mind tht he has it also, its more of an imaginary problem for some of the guys here.....

Convincing argument there.

Just checked Kumho website. No mention of 'check inside-out' on maintenance section. nod.gif
Thanks ye 'all.

Sorry .. I don't see any 'monkey' pic. Must be something wrong with my screen. I do see however, a few 'chicken' avatar. nod.gif

Any SX owners changed to smaller 16 inch rims example 205/50 R16 blush.gif ??

Any signinficant reduction in rear tyre noise ?? icon_question.gif .. coz the groongg sound on certain tarmac is quite unnerving ... even on 220 psi

actually, i find it no worse than cars with thicker tyres, in the intensity of the sound.........just the pitch difference........the 17" rims makes a metalic grooooong cound........my 14" and 15" cars with thicker tyres makes a groooooug sound.......just as loud.......... biggrin.gif

Congratz for finally drving home your Forte!!

I'm hoping to reduce the tyre noise ... thinking that decreasing rim size and tyre width and slightly increasing the tyre thickness would make some improvement.

Interestingly, Kumho (though not stated which model) is THE QUIETEST tyres around after objective testing thumbup.gif .... producing 69 decibles interior noise compared to Michelin (?which model) producing 71.1 decibels ... and few other brands produce 70 dB or more.

http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/products/tota...3162/noise.html

I guess changing to Michelin Primacy LC or Yokohama dB Series won't reduce the tyre noise.

Last option ... noise padding but that would involve dis-assembling certain car parts during installation right? Afraid get 'yik yik' sound after that ...

Haiya .. Sime Darby can give 5 yr or 300,000 km warranty for it's newly launched Hyundai Tucson ... also using the theta II engine. nod.gif

If new Elantra/Avante looks like Sonata or Verna (both look alike) ... Sime's warranty's gonna make it a steal deal.
